We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and felt safe and very comfortable. Lots of dining options within 5 minutes drive. Lots to do on the property for kids. Nice, well stocked kitchen with cereal options for breakfast. Easy check in. We brought our toddler and dog along. The outside facilities are run down and the grass is long and not safe for the dog to explore. Rooms were big and well furnished, and while things were neat and linen was clean, the actual place could use a good scrub and airing as there was lots of dust and dampness. The free continental breakfast consisted of mostly-empty cereal jars and no milk. However, it was great for our one night stay, fitting all 6 of us in the master suite with (it's only one) adjoining room. Absolutely stay here if you love the Carrington in Katoomba. I was fortunate to have the place to myself for the two nights. Easy check in, more an Airbnb than a hotel really. Convenient location to Dubbo. The rooms are cool in hot weather and also quiet. It's a short drive into the centre of town but I wouldn't call it walkable. It's family friendly, so there will be other guests with noisy children in common areas, but that goes with properties of this kind. Staff are not on-site, but responded immediately to an inquiry when we arrived.
