“Good place when traveling to stop and sleep,”

“No snacks available, no elevator.”

“The view was wonderful, and the staff was very helpful. There was a smoky odor in the room, either from the fireplaces in the other units or from the firepit outside. The floor plan of the bathroom in the third-floor room was odd. The open door blocked the sink. We had a little trouble figuring out the A/C controls, so the room was a little too warm. We greatly appreciated the free EV charging stations. They were never ICEd while we were there. We underestimated how tiring the 32 stair steps……

“We booked a beachfront room specifically so we could enjoy the sunrise from the comfort of our room since the weather was chilly. Unfortunately, our experience was disappointing. The first room we were assigned had a beachfront window that was completely fogged over between the panes, making it impossible to enjoy the lake view or watch the sunrise. The front desk staff was helpful and moved us to another room, which we appreciated. While the windows in the second room weren't fogged, they were……

“We really enjoyed our weekend here. Quiet and secluded, but still very close to Grand Marais. A path just outside accesses a whole network of trails, we hiked to Pincushion Mountain. And the SHT connects here as well if you want to go further. The furnishings are simple in a very nice way; a folding table with two folding chairs, an electric kettle and a mini fridge are great for morning coffee or simple meals. The only thing we would have changed would be trading the two twin beds for a single……
