“The house was very clean and in a beautiful mountain setting. The host was very quick to respond and we really enjoyed our stay. Would definitely go back.”

“This property is in the mountains. You must drive about 20 minutes up a twisty, narrow road on the side of the mtn in order to get there. The problem we encountered is that after we got to the home, we realized we were at least 30 minutes away from grocery stores or restaurants. This was not explained to us prior to arriving. We did not read any communication either in the home, in messages with the host or on the listing where this was explained. I suggested to the home owner to consider……

“We had a wonderful vacation at Newtown Retreat. The historic home is beautifully restored and very comfortable. It's a real bonus having king size beds for all guests.The location was excellent as we could walk to the downtown areas and numerous restaurants. We really enjoyed exploring Staunton and the beautiful nearby wineries.We highly recommend Newtown Retreat!”

“The cabins were well stocked and arranged to look at your window at the creek. Beautiful place to relax. Nice fire pit and pretty pollinator garden in the front. Easy place to stay and hike on the parkway. Dogs were very comfortable in the cabin. Would definitely return.”

“We stayed in late May for a long weekend as a home base for rest & relaxation, sightseeing and day hiking along the Blue Ridge Parkway, and visiting wineries. It was the perfect mountain top villa for these activities since we didn't have to drive down the mountain to stay close to the parkway. The accommodations were upscale, the mountain top views were amazing, and nearby are restaurants, a small grocery store, and gas station. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.”

“The cabin was clean and beautiful. The stairs to the loft were unsafe for dogs and people, so we did not use that area. The driveway was technical. The edison bulbs flickered. We had a couple issues with the cabin, but the owner was prompt in addressing and fixing the issues.”

“Cabin was clean and the location was perfect. Personally we had no issues with the directions provided by the host but the road is an unpaved one and there is no cell service until you reach the property. The cabin is in close proximity to hiking trails and major towns are an easy 30ish minute drive away. Chris was quick to respond and really helpful. The scenery was beautiful and the little stream right in front of the cabin was perfect!”
