The carpets were dirty, covered in dog and human hair. There was mould above the shower and dirt and mould under the sink. The areas around the toilets were soiled with rusted old urine splashes. "We had a very pleasant stay at this spacious and comfortable home, which was well-suited for our larger group. The garden was a particular highlight, offering ample space and the added delight of fresh fruit to pick. The location is great, being within a short walking distance of the beach and sea (20mins). The property was generally tidy, there were a few spiderwebs which luckily didn't have any spiders. If these were removed it would enhance the experience. Parking proved somewhat challenging...

"A little gem nestled in the countryside with glorious views. Lucy’s apartment was spotlessly clean and tidy, comfortable and very well equipped. Lucy is an absolute hoot- very welcoming and full of suggestions of things to see or do. Perfect for dogs too, with a lovely enclosed garden and lots of walks from the location detailed in the information folder. Lots of lovely pubs nearby too including a local just across the way. We would definitely come back."

"Great room with"

The Lookout Rye

8/10 Good

"Although some areas needed renovation for example the main stairway carpet was very worn and the rooms were a little dusty in places but the room was clean enough I would like to recommend the hotel and it’s staff they were absolutely amazing and they couldn’t done enough for us the breakfast was wonderful lots of choice I would recommend this hotel beautiful setting too"

The Chatsworth Hotel

10/10 Excellent

"Visiting a relative in Eastbourne, we booked the hotel based on its reviews, and we are so glad we did. With a great position, right on the sea front, with just a short walk to shops and restaurants. A beautiful building, built at the turn of the 20th century it had been completely refurbished, and re-opened in 2019. They have skilfully kept the best things, the 125 year old cage lift, the beautiful downstairs windows and other architectural details, whilst modernising the property in keeping with the original style. We loved the piano bar and the guest lounge. Our room on the top floor has a sea view, a very comfortable bed, coffee machine and tea-making facilities. The bathroom was ideal, with the walk-in shower we had requested. They provided a hairdryer although I had taken my own. The only slight irritation was that, like so many other hotels, there was no mirror anywhere near a plug to see how you were drying your hair. Parking was available across the road and the hotel provided the necessary parking permit at a very reasonable cost, Very friendly staff and spotlessly clean. A wonderful hotel that we will use again."
