Amazing sea-view guesthouse, feeling at home!

My boyfriend and I stayed at Los Secretos for 2 nights. We were also lucky to be the only ones in the house. Such an amazing and relaxing place! Xavier and Dorothy were very accommodating and we felt as at home. We had breakfast and dinners there, and food was great. Also very open to adjust our needs. There is a pool free of use and hot shower. We also had a nice walk in the garden with Xavier and the little girl to discover slots, red frogs and other animals. We could take for free their kayak and going all around small jungle rivers and to the red frog harbor to then walk in to the red frog beach on the other side of Isla Bastimentos. The guesthouse is very isolated so only reachable by taxi boat. 100% recommended if you need some relaxing moments, with amazing see view (with dolphins) and fun experiences in the nature!!! Thank you again Xavier and Dorothy it was very nice!

Après avoir sillonné bocas et ses alentours, nous avons posé nos valises 2 jours dans cette super guesthouse à taille humaine avec 6 chambres sur l’île de bastimientos. Un goût de trop peu. Je vous conseil d’y rester 4 nuits pour bien profiter. Dorothée et Xavier sont des hôtes adorables, drôles, chaleureux, de bon conseil. La cuisine est vraiment délicieuse, les chambres sont très agréables avec une vue splendide. Le jardin tropical est une pépite, paresseux, singes, grenouilles rouges, ratons laveurs… Juste en face (10 min en bateau / 5 usd) se trouve la superbe plage de red frog. Prenez un kayak ou paddle (free) et allez faire du snorkeling a 5 min. Bref, impossible d’être déçu dans ce petit paradis !

Xavier and Dorothy are great hosts. If you are looking for a unique experience with home cooked meals, this is the spot for you. Super fun stand up paddling in the wide open waters. It's definitely secluded and there is no place to walk to but very easy to have water taxi called for you to town or another island. It is definitely jungle style and came with a couple of hot nights with no a/c, but a very cool experience. We truly felt like guests in their home.Beautiful location.

a unique and beautiful experience in the nature

The Guesthouse is beautiful, very well kept and in a wonderful position overlooking the Honda bay. Clear, transparent water, no waves, ideal for swimming and snorkeling ( lots of starfish, stingrays, but we saw also dolphins and barracudas). Xavier and his family are kind and always available to give suggestions. They are very good cooks, the food is great and the possibility to have dinner all together with the other guests and the owners (including baby Livia) gives a touch of family life that we appreciated a lot. They have kayaks and paddle boards available, really enjoyable. A place to stay if you are looking for a quiet, comfortable and “natural” vacation! We recommend it!

Einsam gelegen im Dschungel, sehr nette Gastgeber Xavier, inzwischen mit 2 Monate altem Baby, Frau und Mutter , bei Sonnenschein das Paradies. Wir erlebten leider außer bei Ankunft, als die Sonne mal kurz schien, nur regen und dann auch Sturm, so dass wir heilfroh waren, dass wir diesen einsamen Ort wohlbehalten verlassen konnten- abenteuerliche Bootsfahrt- wassertaxi ist sehr nette Umschreibung für diese Art von Boot- inklusive Flug von Bocas nach Panama City. Secretos guesthouse ist wunderschön gemacht, Abendessen gemeinsam sehr schön und auch super lecker- genauso wie das Frühstück. Wenn jemand die Einsamkeit liebt und den Regen und auch Sturm und Abenteuer auch, dann ist er hier richtig. Wir würden uns nicht mehr auf den Weg nach Bocas del Toro aufmachen, da alles sehr paradiesisch beschrieben wird, aber die Strände, die wir gar nicht gesehen haben, zum Baden zu gefährlich sind, Überfälle auf Touristen wohl auch und das Preis Leistung Verhältnis nicht passt.
