“First time staying at Holiday Inn in long while. What nice experience, especially at this price point. A breath of fresh air in a sea of Hotel mediocrity. Clean and well maintained, the large room greeted us with a pleasant smelling climate controlled environment. No musty mildew odor here. Well done. She greeted us so warmly when we arrived, went out of her way to find us two drinking glasses (I hate drinking out of paper cups), and offered us a bit of historical facts about Jacksonville and it’s waterways. We couldn’t have been more pleased, we believe she deserves a raise! The fridge in our room (320) didn’t work, otherwise the room was fine. The breakfast was pretty bad, to be honest. “Booked a room with 2beds months prior. Arrived after midnight (to a sold out hotel) and was told we were “upgraded” and something about a fold out bed. I took that to mean a sofa bed in our room. No…they broke up an adjoining room/suite and had the sofa bed (the only bed) made out for us. I book VIPs and they would have made me change hotels immediately so I’m not sure how they can think this was ok to do. All other area hotels were sold out too so we had to use the chair and sofa bed to the……
