A wonderful location. Opportunity to switch off and listen to the silence ( and the birds in between!) The lodge was very well equipped, everything thought out.

Excellent location and lodge. Very peaceful and quiet. Keswick only 15 minutes away. Lake was excellent but don’t forget to bring your equipment etc as you cannot hire any canoes, boat on site. One minor bad comment was the outside furniture had bird poo on it and could have been avoided if they had been covered. Will definitely be booking at again and recommend to anyone wanting a quiet holiday with family and friends.

A lovely long weekend with kids

Great location, well stocked kitchen. Nearby kid friendly activities like the Lake District Wildlife Park. We would definitely come back for longer. The walls are a bit thin but (I have never stayed in a lodge before so this is likely very normal). It didn't bother the kids at all at night and they slept like logs.

Fabulous stay.

This lodge is impeccable and is in the perfect location. We explored the mountains and lakes and enjoyed watching the birds and playing football on the green. I would thoroughly recommend this lodge.

Idyllic

Beautiful location over looking the lake, cosy and comfy on autumn days. Plenty of dog walks from the property or within a short drive. Scenic walks to local pubs. Would definitely recommend and visit again

Perfect stay

We have had a fantastic stay in this gorgeous lodge. The property was well equipped with amazing views. We spent our mornings swimming and kayaking in the lake,and our afternoons exploring the local area. Cannot recommend this property highly enough.

Relaxing break

Lovely lodge, very clean & in a fabulous position with views of the Lake. The Lodge had everything you need, with comfortable beds & furniture, a very well stocked kitchen, a beautiful decking area with a variety of bird life visiting the feeders. It was a perfect stay for myself & my dog. Would highly recommend 👌

Beautiful lake views

Our stay was wonderful! The lodge was comfortable and well equipped. It had a clear view of the lake and surrounding mountains. It was truly beautiful and we loved it! We swam and paddle boarded in the lake, as well as walked up Catsbells. Keswick is close by with plenty of cafes, restaurants and quirky shops. Wonderful stay.

Comfortable lodge

The lodge is well appointed and clean. It has a whirlpool bath which is fun, but only one shower as a consequence. It has a nice, but restricted view of the lake and surrounding hills. Very comfortable beds

Relaxing break

Property was just as described, very clean and well laid out with some nice local touches and books/maps to help you plan your day. We loved the deck overlooking the lake and swam every day. Bassenthwaite is a lovely area, not too busy but within easy reach of everything. We had fabulous weather whilst there but can imagine the lodge being equally lovely at other times of the year.

Perfect stay directly at the lake

We have had three pretty days at the Bassenthwaite Lake Side Lodge. Everything was successfully. We loved to sit outside on the terracce. It is such a quite, peacefull place. Two times we walked to the Pub "Sun in" in Bassenthwaite it is a halfe hour walk away.

Beautiful setting. Lodge not so

We were disapointed with lodge patio door was boarded up with glass broken made it very dark. Blinds were awful. Gas fire hard to turn off & gets very hot to turn off

Amazing views

The property has amazing views, we had a power cut the first night we were there tried both contacts couldn't get through, I did get a call back, i was told as it was a power cut there was nothing they could do. Which is understandable but i would of expected maybe a bit of compassion as it wasn't my fault either. The bedrooms could do with a bit of updating, windows were very dirty and the shower dripped all the time

Wunderschön gelegene und perfekt ausgestatte Lodge. Mit Seeblick nicht nur von der Terrasse aus, sondern auch vom Esstisch aus. Der See ist auch zum Baden geeignet, zumindest wenn man bereit ist, die kalte Wassertemperatur hinzunehmen. (Im gut erreichbaren, sehr schönen Ort Keswick gibt es diverse Outdoor-Geschäfte, wo man preisgünstig Neoprenanzüge kaufen kann.) Wenn einem der See zu kalt ist, kann man alternativ den Lodge-eigenen Whirlpool nutzen. Die gesamte Ferienanlage ist unglaublich ruhig, insbesondere auch sehr, sehr wenig Autoverkehr. Der eigene Parkplatz direkt neben der Eingangstür machte das Ein- und Ausladen sehr einfach. Die letzten paar Kilometer der Zufahrtsstraße sind größtenteils nur einspurig, so dass man entsprechend langsam fahren muss, um bei Gegenverkehr eine Ausweichbucht suchen zu können. (Dies ist aber nicht unbedingt ein spezifischer Nachteil der Lodge, sondern einspurige Straßen trifft man in der Region häufiger mal an.) Insgesamt ein sehr guter Ausgangspunkt um schwerpunktmäßig die nördliche Hälfte des Lake District zu erkunden.

Fantastic

Lovely lodge which suited our needs perfectly. Less than 10 minutes drive to all the walks we had planned. Site was very peaceful with a lovely view over the lake. Will definitely book again

Home from home .Everything worked ! Basically everything you needed was in the lodge . Water hot , power in the shower , bath lovely . It’s important after a day of heavy walking . Close to drive into Keswick and a local pub 5 minutes drive away with lovely food . A lake for sports if required .
