![Being only a 30 minute bus ride from downtown León, it's hard to imagine a beach this beautiful being so deserted. 
True, being up for sunrise certainly helps, but even throughout the day the beaches of Las Peñitas are for the most part deserted.

Just be sure to check with the locals before diving into the water; while some stretches are perfect for swimming, others are a little rougher and can be dangerous for the unprepared.

“During our stay at Hotel Tranquilo. We enjoyed some of the amenities the hotel had to offered. Let me start off with our room. Room was spotless. Bed was not as comfortable but we only used our bed to sleep, not a big deal. The only down side is that Hotel pretty much closes at 7pm on a friday night. After 7pm you pretty much you're on your own. Main gate is also closed at 7pm (which you have a key if you want to go out and explore). I found it some how difficult to operate the gate and we……

“We did get the room that only has a standing fan which was extremely loud. There were other rooms with different fans that were more quiet. Otherwise great location, everything walkable, it was quiet and clean. The staff was friendly and breakfast was fine but starts only at 8am. ”

![Being only a 30 minute bus ride from downtown León, it's hard to imagine a beach this beautiful being so deserted. 
True, being up for sunrise certainly helps, but even throughout the day the beaches of Las Peñitas are for the most part deserted.

Just be sure to check with the locals before diving into the water; while some stretches are perfect for swimming, others are a little rougher and can be dangerous for the unprepared.
