“Wonderful hotel. Unfortunately the restaurant was closed for a wedding but they made accommodations by grilling burgers. Staff was very nice and they had a bar with a decent wine list.”

“This is a remote location close to hiking trails and waterfalls. It is very important to have a car, as it is not close to the cities. However, the staff are very friendly and helpful, the food is good, and the rooms comfortable. There are books to read and games to play.”

“Driving into Hjelle through the lakeside tunnel was magical. This repurposed schoolhouse was a fantastic place to experience old-world Norwegian living. Loved the nook beds and touches of history. The modern bath and kitchen were integrated well. The property manager was kind and helpful - he let us know when the early snowfall unexpectedly closed down the mountain pass. Was a great site to just relax and enjoy!”
