My travel partner and I booked and paid for a room with two beds through Expedia. When we arrived around 6 PM, we were told the receptionist was not there and the woman at the front desk said she had no way to contact them, so we couldn’t resolve the issue at check-in. We were given a room with only one full-size bed instead of the two beds we booked. When we spoke with the receptionist the next day, she told us the hotel was overbooked and that there had been a communication error with Expedia, mentioning this had happened before. As a result, we remained in a room with one full bed for our entire three-night stay, did not receive any compensation for this error, and also did not receive the welcome drink included with our booking. While the hotel itself is beautiful, the overbooking and lack of communication between Expedia and the property made this a frustrating experience. I would not recommend travelers use Expedia or book with this hotel."
