“We could not be happier with this hotel experience, really the highlight of our entire trip to Costa Rica. Located perfectly between the beach and the entrance to the national park, La Vela is basically in the forest itself, with monkeys and iguanas regular visitors to its outdoor "hallways." Staff was kind and accommodating, pizza at the bar was a wonderful easy meal, and the rooms were clean and bright. Highly, highly recommend. ”

We were a family of four, and after a 4-hour plane ride, a 2-hour customs line, and a 3½-hour drive from San José Airport, we arrived at the hotel completely exhausted.
