The road takes you up about 4 miles from the base of the mountain, but the final 3 mile hike can only be taken by foot or by the very best in 4X4s'. Once at the top you see a rocky white rock capped mountain with a 360 degree panoramic view of Hiawassee basin, it's an impressive view. The lake is Chatuge, a man made lake built by the TVA to help with hydroelectricity.
