"We had a wonderful time. The house was very comfortable and well stocked. We loved the deck and really enjoyed the hummingbirds as well as the numerous other birds. The deer were beautiful and the chipmunks were always entertaining. We go to Angel Fire to get away from the busy life of a large city so we had a chance to relax and enjoy the quiet beauty of nature. It feels remote but is really only a few minutes from the lake, Country Club or Village of Angel Fire. An the hot tub was truly icing on the cake. We have crossed off seeing a deer while in a hot tub off our Bucket List. "

"Check-in was easy. House had everything needed to cook a variety of meals, with a gas grill out on the deck. Comfortable home with plenty of clean towels. Wrap around deck was the perfect spot to chill and enjoy breathtaking views of the valley and Wheeler Peak during the day, and awesome stargazing at night. Overall wonderful home!"

"The place has a special meaning for guests visiting neighboring Philmont Scout Ranch but it will be a welcomed getaway for anyone seeking a nature themed Western getaway. The inn keepers were welcoming and courteous. The family table home made breakfast was a highlight of the stay. The rooms were down to earth luxurious . "

"Grinning Bear Lodge was exactly as advertised. Quiet, peaceful, and yet close to activities and services. The lodge was very clean and well kept. Everything you need to stay and not leave if that’s what you want to do. Sit on the deck and view the wildlife and the stars. Even saw a bear on the property."
