Pas de la Casa

Travel Guide

A town with buildings, a mountain, and a lighthouse.
A town with buildings, a parking sign, and mountains in the background.
A valley with snow patches and a mountain range in the background.
A snow-covered mountain with a ski resort and buildings.
A snow-covered mountain landscape with a winding road and a clear blue sky.

Extensive ski areas, a late night winter party scene and picturesque hiking trails make this mountain resort a must-see vacation destination in Andorra.

During the winter, Pas de la Casa is often referred to as Ibiza on Snow, for its reputation as a party town. In the ski season, join the countless young people who choose the ski resort town for its advanced ski slopes, vibrant nightlife and duty-free shopping. In summertime, it is a much quieter village, where you can follow tranquil hiking paths.

Spend exciting days skiing and snowboarding through the mountains. The area is popular with skiers of intermediate and advanced abilities. Decent snow coverage can last until May. Tackle breathtaking ski runs and marvel at views over the rugged mountain ranges. Pas de la Casa is part of the vast Grandvalira ski area, which means you can take a cable car to the challenging and scenic Grau Roig ski area or the beginner-friendly Soldeu-El Tarter resort.

In the village, indulge in some duty-free shopping in the many retail stores. Purchase your ski gear and electrical goods at a discounted rate. Be mindful, however, that duty-free limits for alcohol and tobacco are low.

Come nightfall, head out on the town and experience the resort’s famous nightlife. Sip on designer cocktails in the bars and dance to live music well into the small hours. The area’s late night venues also attract an impressive roster of international DJ.

If you are visiting in summer, you will experience a much quieter atmosphere. Some of the bars and restaurants remain open, but they are not as lively as in the winter months. During the day, trek through the mountainous landscape on any of the hiking trails.

To reach Pas de la Casa, fly into the international airport at Toulouse, inFrance, approximately 105 miles (168 kilometers) away. Then drive south for about two hours to reach the resort. Alternatively, take a bus from the airport.

If you decide you want a fun-filled vacation in a mountain location with easy access to ski slopes and hiking trails, Pas de la Casa is a great vacation choice.

"Rooms are clean, spacious enough and the cleaners do a fab job. Not too far from ski-area lifts too. However, it’s all a little tired and our ‘triple room’ was a double with a squeezed in extra bed that didn’t align to the wall and lights. There was one wardrobe and a lack of hooks to hang up anything ..."
