Location was great. The property was inclean and in disrepair. There were a couple of broken pieces of patio furniture. The vents were rusted and ceiling fans and top of refrigerator were dusty. Saw at least a few roaches. Kitchen was incredibly unorganized and lacking some basic items.

Nice getaway

The beach access is at the end of your dead end road. You have a beautiful view of some water. Still not sure what that what was but it was pretty. Location wise be prepared to drive 20 minutes either way to a grocery store but there was nice ice cream place, restraint, dg, and arcade all within 5 minutes. Did see a few roaches during our stay but anyone who has stayed in south or North Carolina knows they are like ants down there.

Awesome little Condo

My best friend and I took a long overdue needed trip to the beach and rented this awesone little condo. We weren't expecting quite so many stairs, but they were worth it. The condo is clean and very well taken care of. Perfect location, just a walk across the street to the beach. We really enjoyed sitting on the balcony and eating breakfast & lunch each day. Owner checked in with us on the day we arrived and the day we checked out. would definitely rent here again.

Not comfy

We picked this location because of its proximity to the beach since we have young children, but this was one of the only advantages to this property and the fact that it's a spacious house. My number one issue was the uncomfortableness and firmness of the mattresses . I explicitly messaged vacasa and told them this and it was never addressed. I am a mom of four so I'm pretty tired by the time we get to bed and I still had a very hard time sleeping and so did my husband. The pillows were also extremely uncomfortable. There were zero amenities stocked for guests which I've never experienced in any vacasa rentable. There's always basic necessities like ketchup,mayo and spices. There was absolutely nothing . The majority of the house was pretty clean, but there was mold in the shower curtains. The televisions were also hard to function which I also messaged vacasa about and it wasn't addressed. We will not be staying there again.

Beds are horrendous

The beds are so hard and are like they came out of a Motel 6 years ago. The linens are awful as well. It’s basically like you have the cheapest hotel linens you can find. I will say the balconies were fantastic and you have some amazing views. The layout of the home is nice inside and out. This home has so much potential if they didn’t have a chain property management company take care of it. The community pool that’s advertised is about 30 minutes away. We were not told anything about that.

Review

The Salt Shaker has a decent kitchen and close proximity to the beach but seriously needs some updated furniture and a cleaner vibe. The entire downstairs smelled musty from the dirty couch and there were stains on it and most of the fabric furniture. The TV and cable were also not hooked up when we arrived and we had to do it ourselves. There was also a screen door on the back porch broken, I assume from tropical storm winds but even after reporting it our first evening, nothing was done to fix it. Will not be staying here again.

Great value family getaway

Nice house on a more secluded street with a nice view over a pond and easy access to beach and some useful stores. Worked great for a family of 5.

Great stay

We had a great stay! Everything was great. Only issue is the Dry duck needs to be checked and cleaned. It’s clogged and dryer leaves tons of lent after. Thanks!

Dated yet comfortable

The place showed its age but, it was comfortable without being costly. We had rain and wind yet we were comfortable inside. Compliant? Get rid of that sofa unit.

Nice but hot stay

Overall we had a great time staying at this house. The kitchen is fully stocked with tools, but zéro spices. There are beach toys, chairs, and umbrellas available for use. There is a charcoal grill even though the listing doesn't mention it, we ended up bringing our propane camping grill. The house is located on a private street with beach access. It's about a 5 minute walk, 10 if you have young kids. When we arrived we noticed how loud the a/c unit was and towards the end of our week at the Salt Shaker we noticed that the a/c stopped blowing cold air. Because of the layout of the house and the skylights, it got hot quick. We called the local property manager and he took note, but did not offer to fix it while we were there. We called again and asked for temporary window units and he agreed to bring them over to give us some relief for the last night. They helped bring the house down to about 80º.

Beautiful November escape

We loved our time at the Salt Shaker, in fact we ended up extending our stay due to great weather. The house is perfectly situated 2 min walk from the beach and my 5 year old loved the beach toys (I was grateful I didnt have to bring ours!), outdoor shower and the great porches for sitting and watching the day go by. The only things we didn't love about the place was that we wished there had been some of the amenities like salt and pepper (but perhaps not possible in the time of COVID!) and that the blinds would close better in the rooms as there is a lot of sun in the am. Lastly, while it was warm and we didnt need blankets, we only had one comforter and one throw blanket in the house, but loads of pillows :) Thanks for the lovely stay!

Housekeeping

We arrived at our home at 7pm. The housekeeper answered the door telling us she wasn’t finished when we were supposed to check in at 5pm. She was quite rude. My husband left voicemail with property management with our cell phone and never heard from anyone.

Shalt shaker

The property has some small issues when we arrived the hammock wasn't able to be used bc it was broken! The washer leaked every time I tried to use it, I called for service and only one attempt was made to fix it and it never got fixed the whole week! There was a family of snakes living in the ceiling of the outside shower! We did have a nice week but the property could have used some maintainence
