To get to the place where we took this picture you need to drive up the main street called "fundición norte" and follow it through around the island, the road will change names to "fundición sur", when you pass the big police resort precinct you will see a tiny little Street on your left called "Las Gaviotas" get in there and follow it to the end, jump off your car and sit in the Rocks to wait till the sun and gloriously sets in the pacific ocean. Anytime in the year you will be fine, in Tongoy the skies are always clear at sunset time, but please take a jacket with you the wind picks up at that time and can get quite chilli :).
