“Everything about our stay was absolutely perfect - location is very good, 5 minute walk from the Port but at the same time in a lovely, quiet area. Rooms are clean, well maintained and spacious. Check in was quick and efficient and early and reception gave lots of helpful tips for the best swimming beaches and restaurants etc. We only stayed one night but the breakfast was very good, lots of variety and good quality, fresh food. “The room was immaculate, considering how historic the building is. The attention to detail is top notch. If there is ANY dust, high or low, my wife will find it, and there was none. The bathroom spotless. Staff was helpful with recommendations, and attentive to our needs. Perfect location right in the middle of Ύδρα. While there isn’t a pool, no problem. Just a 5-10 minute walk to the natural pool behind Spilia Beach Bar in the sea. Get there before 9am for the most refreshing swim and……

“As others have said the stairs were a killer - but it was so worth it for the amazing views (from two terraces). The property was huge and with loads of interesting features (including a canon and seagulls hanging from the ceiling). It was a fabulous place to just ‘be’ and spend time relaxing. There were a few bits in need to repair (including one of the banisters, which was very wobbly) but that’s a minor quibble in an otherwise lovely stay.”

“I was honestly disappointed with this hotel. In my opinion, it does not deserve a 4-star rating. I paid extra for a room with a terrace, and I have to say the terrace and the sea view were beautiful—that was definitely the best part of the stay. Unfortunately, the room itself was very outdated. The walls were old and even swollen in some areas, giving the impression that they hadn’t been properly maintained for years. The mattress was clearly worn out, and the sheets looked as if they had……
