“There is nothing to fault. The property is modern, spotlessly clean and well furnished to a high standard, with excellent views. There are some very pleasant small details on arrival (a loaf of bread, cake, butter, milk, tea, coffee and a selection of biscuits and jams). Paul and Jill are delightful and amusing hosts, who went out of their way to make our stay memorable. We will definitely return when we are next in the area.”

“We had a wonderful time staying at this beautiful house for a friends reunion. The house is charming, comfortable, with great communal areas and cosy bedrooms. It’s well placed near a train station, and a great walk. We loved the fireplace and the hot tub which created a great atmosphere and kept us warm in winter.”

“I booked this property for my Sister’s hen-do and it was just the most perfect property!! The house was extremely well stocked with glasses and crockery. The dining room was amazing, creating such a special experience for a formal dinner. The gardens were beautiful as well! The host, Patricia, was extremely helpful and responsive - I really felt like she wanted to ensure we had the best experience, which we did!! Could not recommend this property more.”

“The property was very well equipped & in a lovely position on the site. It was very peaceful. The couple of queries we had were immediately resolved by the reception staff. If I was pushed to have a slight negative comment it would be that there were no instruction booklets for the kitchen appliances. ”

“We really enjoyed our short stay at the Carthouse. It's a lovely property in Axbridge, with Cheddar Gorge within easy reach. Communication with Val was excellent and also waited on the side of the road to show us the entrance to the side road. The Carthouse was spotlessly clean and Val had left several thoughtful items to get us started including bread, milk, wine and cider! Thank you Val, it was much appreciated. We'd have no hesitation in recommending this lovely property.”

“Meet up for a family birthday with infants. Chosen for central location from where we live. Lovely house and gardens with excellent facilities. ”

“This is a lovely property with very nice owners. The garden/land is huge and great fun to walk around. There are lovely chickens in a large coop. The house has everything you need. The planes are very loud but I got used to them and we did know this before going. The owners son sat and chatted to me and my daughter for quite a while and he let us in with the chickens which was great. There are a couple of local pubs, and we chose the Prince of Waterloo. “Lovely house with lots of room and lots of equipment, crockery etc. comfy beds . Outside seating but never used as weather was somewhat wet and windy, but had a couple of sunny spells to make use of hot tub. Jane was very communicative and an ideal host. Thoroughly recommend,”
