Freezing cold rooms

The room was freezing cold, the radiator was on but just not hot enough. The window didn’t close properly and there was a massive draft coming through.

Fantastic service

Fantastic service. The staff were attentive and friendly- even offering to make us a flask for our onward journey. The room was quirky and comfortable with a great shower in the en suite. We enjoyed a lovely tapas meal in the evening and breakfast was delicious. Highly recommended.

The property was excellent and Amanda the host was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was excellent as well. Could not find any faults at all would definitely recommend

The hotel looks a little shabby from the outside but once you step indoors you get an immediate sense of warmth and comfort. Sadly the bar lounge isn’t open yet but the room I stayed in was stunning. Thank you.

No.1 Hotel, Wooler

Really impressed with hotel atmosphere, rustic ambience with beach logs and branches hung on the walls decorated with lights. Comfortable bed with similar decor. Definately recommend this hotel in Northumberland. If i had a criticism it would only be that the evening restaurant was not open along with bar because of current covid and staffing restrictions. Very friendly staff and so accommodating, breakfast was great with plenty of choice on our visit. Will come again.

Wonderful time in Wooler

Lovely hotel and staff and facilities excellent. Only slightly disappointed as Wine Bar unable to open due to owner being ill but apart from that it was overall great.

The No. 1 Hotel in Wooler

Very friendly staff and comfortable accommodation. Unfortunately, unforeseen circumstances at the time of our stay prevented dinner being provided, but an excellent breakfast was served.

A Little Gem

Amazing 3-night stay at No.1 in room No.8. Great location, very comfortable and welcoming. Staff are lovely and service excellent. Freshly cooked breakfast which set us up for the day. Pity it couldn't have been a longer stay but look forward to next time.

Very disapointing Birthday treat.

I chose this hotel to visit bamburgh castle as part of wifes birthday trip.When we arived we where greated by a lovely helpful lady who we later discovered was the chef, we then proceeded through the hotel and out of the back door to a converted Room 11 - King Superior En-suite sadly not as good as the cleverly taken clearly old photos, large room with a small closet shower, broken lights above the bed old dirty carpet, various dead flies on bed cover and windowsills, a strong damp smell and black hairs in the bed. On the way back to reception we where greated with some bubbly and the nice lady singing happy birthday to my wife. We told her we where sorry but we couldnt stay in that room and she said come and speak to the owner we did get a full refund (thank you) from the owner who said he recently had a stroke, and i overheard him say restaurant closed due to staff shortage. I believe this establishment needs to sort its staff issue and update room 11 i cant speak for the remainder of the rooms as it was fully booked. Sadly we did not go to Bamburgh castle my wife was so upset as this was part of her Birthday trip and instead we drove half way home and stopped in a lovely hotel in Doncaster. We travel a lot and have stayed in many establishments but never before have needed to leave one. Sorry for the honest review but i feel its nessesary. Gary O Norfolk

Although there has been a misunderstanding in booking, the hotel has been opened only for us. The service and the hospitability were perfect. They have even given us a bottle of Prosecco (a real one) when arrived. Norma and Dima were ready to help all the time.
