• How does Flight Deals work? 

  Flight Deals is a customizable deals feed on the Expedia app that lets travelers browse current flight deals from their home airport. Powered by machine learning, Flight Deals spots airfare deals that are 20% less than the typical predicted price. Browse deals to anywhere, or filter by destination and travel date, and then create custom alerts for deals that fit specific criteria. Find Flight Deals in the Expedia app under the “Search” tab.
• How are the predicted percentage savings calculated? 

  Machine Learning technology continuously analyzes 30-plus factors to identify deals. The factors include things like historical data, how far in advance of the travel date, international vs. domestic flights, day of the week, and more to predict the typical price for a route. The algorithm compares currently available fares to that estimated typical price and surfaces any that are at least 20% less.
• What qualifies as a ‘Flight Deal’? 

  The best kind of deal combines value and quality. To qualify as a flight deal a fare needs to be at least 20% cheaper than the typical predicted price and it can’t have more than one stop or super-long layovers (more than 8 hours).
• Is Flight Deals available globally?

  Flight Deals currently is available on the U.S. app.
• How many alerts can you set up?

  You can track as many destinations as you want.
• How often will I receive deal alerts for my tracked destinations?

  We will notify you when there are relevant deals that meet our quality criteria. Haven’t received an alert for one of your destinations in a while? A new deal has not yet been found.
• Why did Expedia show me prices that were different than what I paid?

  Prices shown in the Flight Deals experience are based on the basic economy fares. They do not reflect add-on products like checked bags or paid seats.
• How do I delete Flight Deal alerts?

  To delete a Flight Deal alert, return to the Flight Deals experience in your app. Tap the price alert on the Flight Deals page, and turn off the alert. You can also find this page by clicking on the push notification, the Flight Deal card on the app home screen, and turning the alert off. You can always start the Flight Deals tracker again by starting a new search and setting a new alert.
