"Casa Valderrama was better than we could have imagined! Starting before arrival Val and Kayleigh were on top of communications and Kayleigh was quick to respond to any questions or concerns during our time there. The house is as described, although to be honest we spent most of our time on the outside veranda and pool! THE VIEW is amazing! The kitchen is well stocked for the meals you want to cook and just relax. The beds were very comfortable. The short hike down to the village is easy but is definitely not as easy on the return, but doable for most (look for the shortcuts as described). We spent a few days on the beach but the VIEW and comfort of being on the deck continued to call us back. Although there was only four of us I can imagine enjoying a holiday here with family as there is plenty of room for everyone to be together but also plenty of space to get away for moments of quietness. You are central to make day trips to Malaga and Granada (Alhambra and Flamenco) and for a really long day - drive to catch Ferry to Tangier and stop by Gibraltar on the return for fish & chips and a pint for a couple more stamps in your Passport. We can’t say enough about Casa Valderrama! The sunsets are an experience! We hope to visit again in the future!"

"We booked a balcony room and wasn't disappointed. It was large, nicely decorated and had a large double bed. The hotel staff are all very helpful and friendly. The restaurant food was really good. We wi fir another visit and would thoroughly recommend it."

"Close to the beach, nice clean rooms. Helpful staff. Breakfast at 8 Euros was a steal, although it does not start till 0800, depriving me of a chance to fill up for the day. Will stay here again."

"We had a room overlooking the beach which included a small balcony. I suspect that the views from the other rooms along the sides of the hotel were not quite so good. Beach access was easy - just cross the road and you're there. Mainly pebbles & coarse grit, with a few sandy patches. No problem renting a sunbed - plentiful supply. Several restaurants along the seafront, some good, some expensive. The evening buffet in the hotel was very high quality, plenty of choice, and even less expensive than most restaurants. Beach was busy but no rowdy occupants! This is our third visit & we will be back soon. "

"The hosts were very nice.However, when we arrived at the property there was an infestation of tiny ants. They were everywhere. The kitchen and worktops, the bathroom, lounge, bedrooms and some nights in our actual beds!The TV never worked, the kettle only got warm but never boiled (Juan replaced that) and the air conditioning didn't work until the day before we left. I suspect The owner put a timer on the handsets to stop us using it. Every day was in the thirties so it was uncomfortable especially at nights.There were ceiling fans but they offered little relief from the heat.We knew that access to the pool was via a set of steps, and in hindsight the ramp to the pool edge was steep ( no steps) and very difficult for people in their seventies to negotiate. There was a wooden handrail that was just stakes hammered into soft earth, so when you reached for them they moved all over the place. OK probably for young people to negotiate, but dangerous for the elderly like us. That experience meant we only ventured to the pool the once.I thought Juan might have offered us a refund of some of our money, but nothing was forth coming. Then that would never happen would it?All in all a very disappointing stay for all three of us.Elderly people should be warned about the pool access prior to booking though."

"Loved every minute of my stay from check in to check out. It was like stepping back in time to old style Spanish hospitality. Staff addressed us by name from the moment we arrived and couldn’t do enough to help and make us feel welcome. The owner, Mercedes was always on hand and the staff Miguel and Nando remembered the little things, such as what we drank. Rooms spotlessly cleaned every day and the sea view was beautiful. "
