The house in East Cobb falls short of our expectations set by inaccurate marketing in their listing. Sure it offered comfort and space for my party of 8 adults and 4 kids, with its 4 rooms and 4 bathrooms, with one bedroom and one bathroom in the basement, but the house was not as promised. In case you don’t read this whole review just know that I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PROPERTY OR ANY OWNED BY MOUNTAIN SIGHTS RENTALS due to the owners not truly considering what lack luster service we experienced. I’m about to disclose many factors that caused me to give such a low score and review. The only 5 star worthy element of this experience was the consistent communication the property manager provided. I sent at least three emails communicating my concerns and the manager did his best to comply. The cleanliness of the house is perhaps my greatest concern. Under the couches and the beds we found old candy, old toys and a cream from previous guests. Not to mention the layers of dust and dust bunnies giving our kids allergies. Whoever they used to clean the house does not clean beneath these not so hard to reach places. The wifi was slow at best especially when most of us tried to log into it. At one point I had to notify the property manager that the Internet had gone out. The playroom area is considerably comfortable for the kids to play, however the small basketball hoop, in the listing pictures, was partially broken upon our arrival. Needless to say, the basketball rim eventually fell off! The house overall felt neglected, with water leaks from the master bathtub evident, a cracked kitchen counter with an aging sealant. Within a matter of days of our stay, when it rained, we had water come in through the base of the basement walls. And so I contacted the property manager but his team of maintenance could only “potentially” show up the morning we would check out. To avoid three straight nights of having my kids sleep in a damp basement we left a night early to be safe.
We wanted to leave early from our stay but it ultimately would have been a bigger discomfort to move all of my party out. And so, since we stayed for most of the days the property owners denied our request for any kind of refund. They put “policy” over the integrity of service they should display their guests. They claim they will take action in response to the issues we had in the house and for the sake of future guests. I hope they truly do.
