“Charming, cosy cottage with everything we needed. We felt very at home and the location gave us exactly what we were looking for in the Dales. ”

The information handbook was comprehensive.It was very clean and well maintained and was also in a wonderful location with beautiful scenery all around it.The only downside was the bathroom and the lack of shower screen and wall mounted shower. ”

“A fantastic get away from it all.Waking up every morning to the sounds of the sheep & lambs bleating in the distance with the bees buzzing among the garden flowers with the birdsong and the magnificent views across Swaledale was absolutely idyllic.The cottage is very welcoming with homely decoration. The hosts have provided lots of information about things to do in the Dales as well as lots of information about walking routes. We didn't need to venture far from the peace & quiet of Rubbing House……

“We had a lovely stay at The Old Barn, it’s well equipped, quiet and dog friendly. The parking worked well, we have a 4x4 and a tow bar mounted bike rack. We also appreciated having a secure shed for our bikes. The neighbours are friendly and made us feel welcome, we are planning to return to the cottage to explore the area further. My only comment is about recycling as we couldn’t find a recycling bin. But we did locate and use the local recycling facility, which is at The Reeth Dales Centre.”

“Great location and lovely cottage. Very comfortable. It has been perfect for my needs.If I could suggest any improvement, it would be to change the upstairs bathroom matting as it’s looking discoloured and dirty.This is the second time I’ve stayed here and I will definitely be back ”
