“We thoroughly enjoyed this wonderfully charming and quiet guesthouse set in a breath-taking landscape that made us feel like were residents of the village! The breakfast is simple, but tasty, and you pick it up and bring it to your room. I especially enjoyed the kitchenette, which made it possible to do some hand laundry. There was a laundry rack in the room. The hostel and Taverna restaurants were delicious fine eating surprises within walking distance.

“Casa da Fonte is nestled in one of the sweetest villages within Gerês. This place was a good value for price. However, we had major issues with check in. We sent inquiries about check in days before and received no response. We didn’t get our check in information until after the check in time, forcing us to sit in a fierce, cold rain storm. The place smelled like cigarettes and the host is not on site/wasn’t responsive. However, we may have been a one off. Everybody has a bad day and we hope……
