“Perfectly pleasant guest house, spacious room with mini fridge and kettle. Really clear access instructions and felt very secure and safe during my stay”
“Wonderful! Lovely staff, great food, good selection of beers and wines. Rooms small (as would be expected from an old inn) but clean and comfortable. Nice mix of locals and visitors. Definitely recommend. Thanks so much!

“The room is immaculate, there are nice touches like ground coffee and a french press, first time I have had this even in £500+ a night rooms. There is plenty of free parking on the street outside.
The only thing to be mindful of is that there is a big step both into the room and the bathroom for those with reduced mobility like myself - this is in addition to the 6 steps i was aware of. There is no aircon or fan so we opened the bedroom and bathroom windows and it was fine. Old school air……
“The staff were very friendly from check-in to check out. The breakfast was lovely and the staff were so friendly and accomodating. A really charming b&b and would recommend to anyone staying in the area. ”

“We wondered what we had let ourselves in for on arrival. How surprised we were as our stay progressed. The breakfasts were supreme, the service with a smile by our host, David, wonderfully assisted by Allison. Nothing was too much trouble. A very pleasurable stay. A nice location for our days out and always a welcome home cuppa on our return. Lovely memories.”
“The location was simply perfect, with a lovely proximity to all the eateries and amusements in the area, as well as the walks and scenery. Our room was clean, warm and spacious and we all slept very soundly (better than at home)! The breakfast was perfect, exactly the right amount to kickstart our days with a lovely selection too. The hosts were so kind and hospitable and went above and beyond to accommodate us, as well as give us great advice and information about the local area. Would……
“Lea Hurst is a fantastic place to stay , Quiet and secluded.
The house is beautifully restored and the room was superb good views over the countryside,, Jen was a superb host and made us feel welcome in her home. Excellent breakfast and the canal path only 5 minutes walk through the garden. Good location for visiting all of the Peak District. Would highly recommend and can’t wait to return ”
“Had a lovely nights stay - very comfortable bed, lovely size room with everything we could want. Tea, coffee, hot chocolate, fresh fruits and lots of biscuit in the room which was extremely clean.
Had a great welcoming from the owners on arrival with freshly baked flap jacks and lots of local knowledge shared.
A book regarding the building was also an interesting read.
We had breakfast (optional) which consisted of lots cold options, fresh fruits, juices cereals etc. Then a full range for any……
"We had a great stay at this historic hotel. Check in/check out was smooth. Great breakfast selection with hearty portion. Room is clean and bed is just the right firmness that you can wake up rejuvenated without backache. We also like how they stock plenty of welcome drinks and snacks in room to give us coziness to wind down in the cool weather."
