The owners were very flexible with the Sunday checkout times which was nice of them. The kitchen is a professional kitchen (for the weekday BnB purpose I guess) so not quite the social space that you're used to in a more traditional house. One of the bedrooms does have a particularly un-private toilet in it, which may trouble some people. But overall,……

“We hired the bunkhouse for two nights of birthday celebrations and walking. Great location with stunning walks right outside the door. Wainwright’s Inn is a few steps away, as is the co-op with its little cafe upstairs. I hope to make our stay an annual event. Highly recommended!”

“The house is beautiful and very spacious. The surrounding gardens are immaculate and provide stunning views of the lake. The house is very well appointed and the kitchen had everything we needed as a party of 8 adults and a baby. The location was perfect and we highly recommend Wansfell Holme for a large family stay. ”

“Had a great long weekend at the property. Had loads of stuff there to use the kitchen to its full potential. Was lovely and warm and everyone had plenty of space in the accommodation. We were able to celebrate Christmas with my mum who is going to Guatemala next month and won’t be there. A few tiny tweaks will make this a perfect let but already great as it is.”

“Great property as described on listing. Everything that you would need for a very comfortable stay in Ambleside. Great location short walk into town centre and to lake side.”

“Everyone loved San Ging. Everything you could ever need to enjoy a wonderful break. Great location with mountain views. Such a peaceful time for my friends and family. Beautiful house with space, light and comfort. Immaculate. Keswick has so many enjoyable activities for all ages. WonderfulCheck in and check out was so easy. I would return without question.”

“The property was lovely, and clean. A great location with good amenities. One of the bedrooms is on the ground floor which was a bit tricky for us staying with young kids and not mentioned in the information, and the on street parking availability on the street mentioned nearby was really limited, but we travelled on a very busy school holiday weekend. We have stayed at lots of homes as an extended family group and this was great, with a good location. Only criticism would be that 9:30am is the……

“Internally the property was as photographed however after phoning the first morning to let management know there was a fly issue- some bug spray would be helpful so our food prep would be easier ,there was giant hogweed down the access path making access dangerous for me as a cancer patient as it is a highly toxic plant ...the garden had not had the grass cut in a very long time making it not useable -and no hot water was the icing on the cake ....nothing was rectified they said they would be……

“We stayed at Beechmont in July with 13 people total. We have family which traveled from the Isle of Lewis, Family from the Midlands and we flew over from the USA. Lois is a fabulous host, accommodating, informative and very responsive. The property is well equipped for our large family and had plenty of space and rooms for everyone. It had games, fresh linens and the charm of the sheep and cows across the road “speaking” to us each morning. It is close enough to be the villages but also away……

"The location is great and nearby the ferry pier. But the hotel is not in good maintenance at room, the toilet ceiling have a lot of dirty water marks, it looked disgusting. I booked a lakeview room that cost £250 a night, but not worth it, the room is really dilapidated, even they don't have a refrigerator at room, I needed to keep my birthday cake in their restaurant. The room price wss including the breakfast but it was lack of choice, they serve breakfast until 10:30 am, when I ordered scrambling egg with smoked salmon toast, they said no more but I saw other customers have it, I thought smoked salmon and egg are very common foods in a hotel restaurant, I wondered why they can tell me no more stocks. I just can say this hotel not worth for money, they are overpriced. Staffs are not really friendly. "
