Solitude and seclusion welcome you to this modern chalet nestled in the woods

Once you turn onto our private road, you will become immersed in a beautiful natural setting with no neighbors in sight. We are located close enough to all of the conveniences of town, but far enough away to truly unwind and relax.

The beauty of the area is that it offers something for everyone. With the Birkebeiner Trail right outside your back door, you can ski from the comfort of the cabin right to the trail in the winter, or go for hike in the woods in the summer. The cabin is well equipped for the cross country ski enthusiasts, including a waxing table and boot dryers. If biking is your sport, we are within10 minutes of both the Mosquito Brook Trailhead and the 'OO' Trailhead.

If motor sports are more your speed, we are in close proximity of those trails as well, no need to drive to a trailhead, ATVs are allowed on the roads in our Township

We also offer two kayaks and 3 pair of snowshoes for guests to use at no charge.

Just want to relax? Imagine yourself sitting in the amazing screened porch enjoying your morning coffee, listening to the birds. Quiet evenings can be spent curled up next to the fire enjoying a good book. The floor plan offers enough space to hang around in the kitchen or sneak downstairs to enjoy your favorite TV show. .

*For guest's security, there is a video only security camera covering the parking area of the cabin, it is not monitored regularly, unless an issue arises and we need to go back and review footage, which we have never had to do! This is the only camera on the property and it is completely visible on the porch.

A true home away from home!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Luna’s Retreat! It was exactly as described - super clean - homey - awesome screened in porch - easy access to trails - tons of room and close to activities. The owners have thought of everything with this rental - comfy porch furniture that we enjoyed a glass of wine as well as coffee in, comfortable beds, quality linens, quality furnishings and appliances, they even go so far as to provide qtips in the bathroom! We were looking for quiet relaxation and definitely got it here. Highly recommend staying here if you get the chance!!!

Woodsy Retreat
I had a restful one week break from the hot summer in the city. The area offers lakes, rivers, hiking, biking, and beautiful scenery, but the biggest draw is this cedar-sided gem of a house! It is immaculately kept, secluded, yet easy to access, and near shopping, bars and restaurants in Hayward, Seeley, and Cable. Lake Superior is less than an hour away, and the city of Ashland has a large public beach for access. I will definitely consider visiting in the fall and winter too!

This property was stocked with everything you could possibly need for your stay. A great deal of thought has been put into this VRBO by the host Angie. This VRBO exceeded my expectations. This property is top notch in all areas, it was super clean. We have stayed in many vacation rentals in this area and none come close to this one. We would return again without hesitation. Thank you for allowing us to bring our furry kid with us!

We visited the Hayward area to ride ATVs. This location was amazing for trail riding! The cabin was very clean and modern! Everything went extremely smooth as far as check-in. Angela was very responsive and helpful on any questions I had prior to arrival. We were all extremely pleased with our stay! Highly recommend!!

Nice open cabin, ski-out your door
This cabin has a nice open floor plan, good for family or couples. It's situated in the woods -- far enough so it's isolated from road noise but not too far so you have to worry too much about getting stuck in the snow if it's snowy. The birkie ridge ski trails are right out your door so you don't have to drive if you don't want; if you do all the trailheads are nearby. Angie was responsive and accommodating, helpfully making sure we knew about all the amenities and options.

Awesome cabin!
This cabin in the woods is really a great place to stay. We would definitely stay again. We had 4 adults staying - the only thing that would make this cabin even better would be an additional shower. We rode ATVs on the beautiful trails around there and when you come back showers are the first thing you do. We made it work however another shower in bathroom downstairs would be awesome!! Overall, great place to vacation and would definitely recommend to others as well as we would stay again.

This property was just perfect for our time away. It had everything we needed. The house is beautiful! The location is peaceful and secluded. We had plenty of privacy and relaxation after hiking all day. The kitchen island is perfect to play a game, and have dinner and drinks together. Loved the open floor plan between the living room and kitchen, would love to stay again sometime soon!

This property is remarkable. It is "cozy," yet there is plenty of space for a family. There are so many special small touches that make the stay memorable. The location is amazing with easy access to Cable or Hayward and access to ski trails out the front door. Highly recommended!
