I recently stayed at SCP Hilo Hotel and was genuinely impressed by the blend of comfort, sustainability, and aloha spirit. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, and the rooms were clean. Finally, the hotel is commitment to sustainability and holistic hospitality is evident throughout the property...from refillable water station (in the lobby) and recycling. Definitely recommend this hotel.

The Bay Area around the hotel was awesome, worth the stay alone. However, the water pressure in the bathroom/shower was sub-par and the tv was quite small. Still a good stay overall.

Cute and quiet hotel next to the water! I didn’t get to use the amenities included with the resort fee, but it included paddle boards and bike rentals. The little mart in the lobby was open 24/7, offering snacks and refreshments. Ample amount of parking available. Friendly staff! Would stay here again.

The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. Several good restaurants are within easy walking distance.

Great location: just a short walk from coconut island, a short drive from downtown Hilo, 5+ min drive to convenience store, 5 minute drive to Carlsmith and Richardson Park beaches, 5 minutes from the airport and surrounded by a bunch of restaurants, and coffee shops within walking distance. But the biggest highlight is the lagoon which is steps away from the lobby: clear and calm waters, lots of turtles in the morning, amazing views, perfect for a dip (better bring water shoes tho) and paddleboarding. Which you can rent for free from the hotel. Lobby is also beautiful, with a very deep pool and staff is always very friendly and welcoming. We believed that room cleanliness can be improved but overall this is such a great place we will definitely stay here again.

I would stay here again for sure.

Great place! The rooms are fairly basic but nice. The pool is fantastic. Very nice staff. We also loved walking along the water and the beautiful park.

We found the hotel to be clean, well kept landscaping for being an older established buildings. The pool area was beautiful, as well as, the Koi pond. The banyan park and Japanese garden, in the area, was beautiful to walk. The amenities suggested wouldn’t be something we would have been interested in trying. I thought the resort fee was too high and uncalled for.

My fiancé and I stayed in this property on our last day in Big Island. Conveniently located 5 min away from the airport, so we had plenty of time to savor up any time we had left over on the island. There are a few local places to eat within walking distance. There is a bay across the street where you can watch kids having fun and jumping off in the water or you can stroll for a nice sunset walk. Staff were welcoming and helpful. Rooms were clean and comfortable. The experience overall felt really nostalgic. I grew up in a small town like Hilo, so it felt nice to feel a little piece of home there.

Good location, staff awesome, too bad no TV. I did ask and the other rooms that are higher in price have TV. Felt safe, was pretty quiet, shopping close by, dining right there, very walkable, convenient, easy partking. Liked the fresh water that was available to fill your bottles/flask. Loved the coffee first thing in the morning and hot tea before bed. Would stay there again.
