The estate is recognised as a European Heritage Site for its otter population and ancient Caledonian oak forest. Craignure (6 miles) has a food shop, garage, post office, tourist information centre, pub and restaurant, and is the car ferry port to Oban. Ardura is a great base for visiting Iona, Tobermory and Duart Castle. Excellent hillwalking in the area. Nearby are a swimming pool, gym, health spa, golf courses and sandy beaches. Scottish private water supplies, which come from a natural scource, can be brown and peaty particularly after heavy rain. Please do not be concerned, this is quite normal. The natural water supply is occasionally limited in the summer when bottled water will be available.
NB. The adjacent empty farm buildings are out of bounds to visitors for safety reasons.
Children must be supervised on site due to possible safety hazards.
The water is from a spring, well or borehole, and not a mains supply.
