"Our stay, in general, was fine. But here are my warnings for the next person.1- we had to open the windows for the cool breeze to come in but the noisy neighborhood disrupted our sleep2- towels smelled of mildew and food3- if your flight is arriving late at night, book somewhere else*when booking, I let the host know that we would be arriving “very late.” The host didn’t ask what time nor did they mention that they had a check-in cut off time. The day we were flying, I receive a message from the host with check-in instructions. I mentioned again that we’ll be arriving late & the host says “I have a cut off time of 10pm (or 9pm? they mentioned two different times so I’m not sure which it is). This makes it a difficult situation for me. I’m uncertain if I can meet you to check you in.” In the bustle of traveling, I didn’t see their response until we were sitting at our gate at the airport in San Francisco (middle of the night in Norway). I ended up having to call VRBO to help us out as their chat agents were not helpful. I was traveling with my mother who is a senior & was now feeling stressed out because I was worried we wouldn’t have a place to stay when we landed at 11:00pm the following day. VRBO put us up in a hotel because the host wasn’t able to accommodate us.What bugged me the MOST was that the host wrote to me about how our late arrival was stressing her out—as if we had control of our airplane’s arrival time—& gave me all the excuses when we finally checked in."

"I had problems finding the front desk and check-in but the staff was great once I got a hold of someone. We also visited during a heat wave and had problems being able to open our windows and the staff was absolutely amazing. They went above and beyond to help us be comfortable on our honeymoon. "

Breakfast was delightful and varied, summit bar has creative and delicious cocktails, knowledgeable mixologists. "The rooms are quite small however quite adequate for the time we were in our room. My daughter and I arrived for a cycling trip with our two bikes so it was squishy however we made it work. The hotel is in the city centre close to the water and shopping areas. The buffet breakfast is provided in the neighbouring Egan restaurant. It was the most comprehensive and amazing breakfast we have enjoyed all trip. Emily at the front reception gets a HUGE shoutout for going above and beyond to help us ship our bike box to Bergen for our return home and it was not an easy task. She was just such an amazing and engaging person. She was working well above her position. "
"We had such an amazing stay here. The breakfast is amazing, our room was very clean. It’s about a 20min walk to the centre. The only con is that the room could not be colder than 22 degrees Celsius - you should be able to adjust the temperature in your hotel room within a range. Our other scandic in Sweden allowed you to go to 18 degrees. "
