Excellent villa and facilities

Fantastic stay in this lovely villa. The villa is well finished and had everything we needed for our stay. The garden, pool and outside kitchen were ideal. The location in Afrata is a bit out of the way but outweighed by the benefit of being in the hills and close to a lovely little beach. The host was excellent and on hand to help whenever needed. We would recommend this villa.

Beautiful Villa in unspoilt location

Our stay was everything we hoped, especially the beautiful Villa in a lovely location. The views were stunning and with a car we explored much of the North West of Crete. Peter was an excellent host and we will hope to return soon!

The perfect villa

The Villa was absolutely beautiful and exactly as pictured. We were staying with our 2 young children (2 and 4), and it was perfect for what we needed. There was a small shallow area of the pool where they could paddle on their own (with us watching), which they absolutely loved. There were plenty of shaded areas too so that they could have some time out of the sunshine. We loved the outdoor kitchen and cooked bbqs most evenings. Peter was extremely good at communicating and very friendly. He was helpful and lovely to the children.

Crete Vacation

We loved the property and the hosts. Peter was available when or if we needed him; however, we never felt like he was hovering. The property was a great place for some seclusion while we enjoyed lounging and cooking. The poolside facilities can’t be beat.

Beautiful place to holiday

We had an amazing time at the villa Georgia, travelling as a family of five, children’s ages ranging from 11 to 3. From the moment we booked Peter could not have been more helpful, we had to make adjustments to the duration because of our airline rescheduling flights, he could not have been more helpful. I would also recommend using the car hire that Peter suggests, having travelled to multiple destinations, I have to say this was the easiest car pick up and drop off I’ve ever experienced. The Villa is beautiful, very quiet and relaxing, everything you could possibly need to recharge the batteries. If you do need Internet access the Wi-Fi was excellent, three children all competing for Netflix time, not one outage or crying child! I also managed to work one morning from the Villa, not a problem at all. The outdoor space is fantastic, the pool is great, the sun lounges, the outdoor kitchen, the shower and toilet area, everything you could need for a relaxing day around the pool watching the children have fun. The air conditioning worked incredibly well, shutters on the windows to create peaceful dark rooms for sleeping, my children even slept in! Peter was always contactable, we had one small power outage in the villa that related to the village itself, Peter was on hand and somehow managed to get this fixed within one hour! I also have to say the cleaning of the Villa was brilliant, the lady who came was incredibly thorough, but also very friendly and accommodating of our comings and goings. Afrata is a very small place with two tavernas, a small shop, but within easy reach of the next small town. I would recommend the beach close to the Villa, very small, free sun lounges, and crystal clear water for some spectacular swimming. A little cafe for food and refreshments. Writing this review just makes me sad I’m not still there with the family, superb holiday, amazing villa, spectacular island of Crete, we will be back at some point.

Fantastisk sted!

Vi havde fornøjelsen af at bo i Villa Georgia i Afrata i sidste uge, og det var en helt fantastisk ferie. Huset var rent og pænt, poolområdet var perfekt med stor, ren pool med børnesektion, badeværelse og det hyggeligste spise- og grillområde. Beliggenheden var helt perfekt med 5 minutters gang til et par gode, hyggelige tavernaer, og 10-15 minutters gang ned gennem bjergene til den fineste lille strand. Og ejeren af villaen, Peter, er enormt sød tog pænt imod os og sørgede løbende for, at alt var, som det skulle være. Vi vil helt klart anbefale villaen til både børn og voksne ☀️

We stayed at Villa Georgia during the October 2021 half-term break. The booking process and communication from the owners was excellent. We booked a hire car through the company Peter recommended. Again this was simple and very efficient. The villa was spotlessly clean and as described. The pool was heated which was great. The outside kitchen and dining area is lovely and would be brilliant in hot, sunny weather. There are two very good tavernas just a couple of minutes walk from the villa and a small convenience store. Kolymvari which has a couple of super markets, bars, tavernas and ATMs is a short 5 minute drive away. Would strongly recommend. Thank you Peter and Georgia. for your warm welcome.

Great villa but mixed Impressions

First of all: at least we enjoyed the days in the villa and we get more then we expected! But our feelings where mixed after our leave. The reasons below: We we're a group of 5 guys and came just for relaxing some days, escape from the "corona-stress". We booked the whole villa for 7 persons with at least 5 persons. Later this week: The fuse in the garden area jumped out a few times. We called peter directly and informed him about that damage. A poolboy arrived some hours after we called and tried to fixed it, but after an hour it jumps off again when we used the "Whirlpool function". The poolboy comes and fixed again but from then we didn't had any whirlpool function for the rest of our stay. Disappointing. Some of our guys made a bad joke to the pool guy, maybe he misunderstood? later then we get 2 female guests we knew for a long time since university. So of course we did some music (we think it was a normal level) and get some drinks. And to be honest some empty bottles rolled into the pool. But definitly -not- a excessive party... suddenly we get a visit of peter with the police that takes our ID Card Data, Peter also asked if we had any drugs with us or on the villa, that the police may could find and why we insulted the pool boy. Everythink in a very choleric and harshly voice. The reason for the police to come was, that we may could be to noisy. Without any notice on our mobile, that maybe someone complained about noisy/music he comes with the police? disproportionate! We were fully shocked about that reproach (especially drugs) and behaviour just for some music and an empty liquer bottle in the pool. We apologized and turn the music off. Our guests leaved later by taxi. Also totally shocked. We booked the villa for 5 and not for 7 people – but nothing was written down on his rulebook that we couldn’t have any guests. After this we also had a feeling that every camera on the villa from that is recording and turned on. We feeled observed from that point on. On the check-out we leaved the villa tidy and clean, there wasn’t any complaints - as we promised. Positive: Great villa at all, Great pool, Great view, tidy bathrooms, tidy sleeprooms, modern look Negative: Fuse in bath jumps out, whirlpool doesn't worked for our stay, mold over the air condition on the living room, very dirty table on the garden area (much dirt on the small gaps), no good grillage for the bbq, owner comes directly with police

Villa Georgia

Unglaublich schöne Villa. Super lieber Vermieter, sehr hilfsbereit und immer erreichbar. Erkundigt sich fast täglich ob alles zu unserer Zufriedenheit ist. Der Pool wurde alle paar Tage gründlich gereinigt. Zusätzlich wurde uns noch eine zwischen Reinigung angeboten. Die wir nicht in Anspruch nehmen mussten. Da wir nur 12 Tage da waren. Wir wurden super freundlich empfangen. Kleines Highlight war ein Willkommensgruß mit Obst, Brot, Käse, Aufschnitt und einigen Getränken. Alles in einem eine unglaublich schöne Villa. Vielen Dank an Peter für die gastfreundlichkeit und super Betreuung. Wir kommen gerne wieder. Danke 🥰

Villa Georgia - wonderful relaxing stay

Great service and welcome from Peter and Georgia. A really well equipped, superb villa in a very peaceful village (which nevertheless has two good tavernas within easy walking distance of the villa). The villa is very comfortable with all you could need (including Netflix!) and very nice views. The whirlpool bath at the end of a long beach day was indeed very welcome. The house is on three levels so be prepared for some stairs, but we were travelling with our toddler and this wasn't really an issue. The house has all you need for those with young kids (older ones will enjoy it too). The villa arrangement would also suit well two couples as the lowest floor can be quite self contained. It was a great stay and we cannot wait to return sometime - Thanks again to Peter and Georgia for the hospitality and the detailed food and beach recommendations.

Amazing Cretan hospitality and villa, with gorgeous views. Wouldn’t hesitate to visit again.

Peter and Georgia are wonderful hosts who provide a fantastic service. They are on hand for any queries and always happy to help whilst at the same time leaving you to enjoy your stay in peace. We got off to a problematic start with our journey when we missed our first flight and the second was delayed several times! This pushed our eventual arrival time back from early afternoon until after 2 a.m, with constant changes! Peter and Georgia were very patient and understanding with us regarding this last minute change of plans (despite it meaning they had to wait all afternoon and evening in the villa for our arrival) for which we were/are very grateful. Furthermore, on check-out day they were very generous to offer and allow us to stay in the villa until early evening due to our later return flight. Once again, we are very grateful to them for their hospitality and for being so accommodating at both ends of our visit. The villa itself is wonderful. It is exactly as pictured and described. The furnishings are very comfortable - mattresses and pillows particularly good for rental accommodation. The air-conditioning was very effective and offered much needed respite from the heat when required. Everything you might need was provided. The cleaning service replaced bedding and towels halfway through as well as leaving the villa spotlessly clean again. The WiFi worked perfectly. There are plenty of spaces around the villa to chill out. The t.v in the games room downstairs was particularly great for keeping up with the Ashes (cricket) in between dips in the pool/lounging in the garden :) The garden is fabulous offering a variety of places to sit or lie and relax. The outside kitchen/dining area is great, fab to have fridge on hand for cold drinks! Outside bathroom/loo also fantastic. The best part for us however was the pool. As a family of mixed abilities in the water, the pool was great for all of us. As a 5’3 non-swimmer I was able to comfortably use most of the pool without feeling out of my depth. This meant we could all confidently enjoy games together as a family. The steps and baby/jet pool also offered great shallow sitting areas. The village itself is in a fab location. Two tavernas within 2 minute walk. Kolymbari close by for more restaurants, shops and souvenirs/local produce. All in all, Villa Georgia is the perfect family (or couples) villa, with wonderful hosts, offering everything you need for a fabulous holiday in Crete.

L’ALCHIMIE PARFAITE

Comment dire, cette maison c’est comme une petite crique de rêve que l’on voudrait garder secrète par jalousie car il faut bien reconnaître qu’il est difficile de trouver le moindre défaut à cet endroit où nous avons passé quinze jours exceptionnels à 6 (4adules et 2 jeunes). Peter le maître des lieux est tout simplement un génie dans le sens où il a trouvé la parfaite alchimie où vous aurez tous les avantages de la maison, à savoir l’indépendance l’espace et le confort mais également le luxe et le service de l’hôtellerie (ménage ultra complet avec changements des serviettes et draps, nettoyage de la piscine,tonte du gazon digne d’un golf). Et ça commence dès votre accueil où il saura si votre avion a du retard, ce qui fût d’a notre cas. Franchement c’est l’idéal. Ça fait une bonne quinzaine d’années que nous louons mes amis et moi des maisons (Crète et Cyclades) et franchement nous n’ Jamais trouvé une maison aussi propre en arrivant IMPRESSIONNANT ! Autre point important :on sent que cette maison n’est pas « meublée « pour la location comme c’est souvent le cas. Ici, tout est fait avec goût et l’équipement est de premier ordre, de la literie à la cuisine c’est ultra complet et de qualité. Vous pouvez vous fier aux photos, elles sont très fidèles à la réalité. La piscine n’ pas immense mais très agréable avec une bonne déclivité et une enclave jacuzzi. Si comme nous vous utilisez Google Earth pour évaluer l’environnement, là non plus, aucune inquiétude c’est le calme absolu sans vis a vis. La maison se situe à la sortie d’un village plein de charme à 200 mètres à peine de deux excellentes tavernes ouvertes comme c’est souvent le cas en Grèce en continu jusqu’à très tard. La route qui longe la maison n’est absolument pas une gêne, pratiquement aucun passage et de toute manière 20 km/h au plus... La cuisine d’eté où d’ailleurs nous avons pris tous nos repas est également très bien conçue frigo machine expresso etc. Autre bonne idée : en plus d’une douche extérieure très pratique pour se « dessabler » quand on revient de la plage il y a également une vraie salle de bain supplémentaire avec wc juste à côté de la piscine , quand je vous disais qu’il y avait du génie chez ce propriétaire. Bref, si nous devions retourner en Crête vous l’aurez sans doute compris ce sera sans hésiter chez Peter et son épouse grâce à qui nous avons passé quinze jours formidables. Merci à vous. Stéphane

Excellent villa, lovely village

We have recently been to this villa with our grown up children. We arrived in the dark to a warm welcome from Peter and Georgia. When we awoke in the morning, we couldn't believe the 360 views of the beautiful mountains and the sea beyond. The villa was spacious and comfortable. The outdoor area was superb, both for relaxing and eating and we spent several enjoyable evenings in the outdoor kitchen / lounge having a BBQ. In the village there are two excellent tavernas within walking distance and Kolipari has two supermarkets and a bakery so you can stock up. For our purposes the villa was fully equipped. We needed for nothing. The walk to the beach is spectacular through a gorge, all we could hear was the sea and the mountain goat bells, however the walk back up the hill was invigorating! The beach was pebbled with free sun beds, it was uncrowded and we had lovely lunches in the beach bar. We highly recommend this villa and we hope to return.

Fabulous Villa with beautiful views!

My family and parents in law's have just returned from a week away in Villa Georgia. Lovely exterior to villa, in a traditional village

We had a really good holiday at Villa Georgia. It’s in a great location in a quiet traditional village yet only 30 mins from the very attractive Chania and with good access to the western countryside and beaches. The villa’s owners Peter and Georgia were very attentive but unobtrusive....coping graciously with our late arrival and early departure and giving good advice on where to visit. The weather was lovely for April with day time temperatures generally between 20 and 26 degrees and the boys happily had a number of goes (if relatively short) in the pool. The villa itself was very clean, with the benefit of a mid-week clean too, and as seen in the photos.

Excellent villa in great location with very helpful owners

Stayed for one week at end September 2017. Could not fault the villa and the service provided by the owners/ managers, Georgia and Peter, who were charming and very helpful. The location in Afrata, a small village about 5 kms away from the larger tourist centres of Kolymbari and the towns in the Gulf of Chania, was great - quiet but in easy walking distance of the village centre with two excellent tavernas.
