“We rented a car and drove from Siracusa, with stops in surprisingly beautiful Noto and historic Modica before arriving in Ragusa, one of the most beautifully situated cities anywhere! I chose the Itria Palace due to it's location and with our having a car, parking was an issue. Right next to the hotel is a free public parking lot with plenty of spaces. And, there is a ramp to the hotel's lower entrance. We were housed in the hotel's annex located across the street, which is lovely, the rooms……

“The property is in an amazing town with much history. The biggest problem is access. We made reservations five months before we arrived and at that time we requested a room on a lower floor, knowing the topography of the town and that some rooms had many steps. My wife and I are not kids but when we arrived, after not being met at the train station as promised we had to carry our bags up about 75-100 steps to our room. The room was large was and clean and after several attempts at resetting the……

“Brilliant location for Ragusa Ilba, loved wandering around exploring in the evenings. Checked in at at Hotel Barroca where the staff were wonderfully helpful and breakfast magnificent. We were perhaps expecting the studio apartment to be somewhat more characterful, with tiles and stone walls, however it was perfectly delightful.”
