Downtown Amman offers adventures galore, but don't restrict yourself to only one place. Grab a set of wheels and take to the road to see what's in the wider area. Here are some great options:

• Irbid is roughly 40 miles from Downtown Amman. Well-known sights like Arabella Mall deserve to be high on your must-see list here.
• Next stop? Wadi Musa, which is around 120 miles away. Petra Visitor Center is one local draw card you shouldn't miss.
• Get into the great outdoors and inhale the fresh air at Tala Bay. You'll find it roughly 180 miles from Downtown Amman.
