$5 Car Rental Historic Center

There are so many things to do in Historic Center, but head farther afield and you'll find even more magic. Pick up a set of wheels and you can wander around the greater area at your own pace. Add these fantastic destinations to your travel schedule:

• You'll discover Cuauhnahuac Regional Museum and lots more interesting sights in Cuernavaca. From Historic Center, it's approximately 35 miles away.
• Your next stop? Puebla, which is around 65 miles away. Africam Safari is one local highlight you won't want to miss.
• La Ropa Beach is around 200 miles from Historic Center and is one of the region's most beautiful nature spots. Go for a walk around and enjoy the fresh air.

If you don't hold a driver's license issued in Mexico, then it's likely you'll need to apply for an International Driving Permit (IDP) in your place of residence to be allowed to rent a car. It's also important to note that if an IDP is required, it has no validity on its own. You'll need to show your current license your passport and other forms of ID as well. Lastly, make sure the credit card you used to book the rental matches the name on your license and passport. Some other requirements to rent a car internationally are:

• Age restrictions: You must be at least 25 in many countries to rent a car. If you're younger than that, it may still be possible to rent a car but you'll have to pay a Young Driver's Surcharge. Additional restrictions may also apply to the types of vehicles available to rent.
• Driving limitations: Make sure you read the fine print before getting behind the wheel. You typically can't cross country borders, drive on ferries or off road with your rental car.
