Car Rental Historic Center

Once you've covered all the amazing attractions in Historic Center, there's loads more to see in the surrounding region. Grab the keys to a rental car, throw your bags in the trunk and take to the open road. We've come up with some road trips we think you'll enjoy:

• Make tracks to Rio de Janeiro for an excellent sightseeing adventure. Approximately 100 miles from Historic Center, it has many inspiring sights like Christ the Redeemer.
• About 120 miles away, Sao Paulo is also a hit with wanderers. Set aside time to get to Paulista Museum while you're in town. It's one of the reasons people love this buzzing city.
• Head to Geriba Beach to reconnect with nature. Pack a picnic to enjoy or just chill out in the fresh air. From Historic Center, it's approximately 180 miles away.

If you don't hold a driver's license issued in Brazil, then it's likely you'll need to acquire an International Driving Permit (IDP) in your place of residence to be allowed to rent a car. It's also important to note that if an IDP is required, it won't be valid on its own. You'll be asked to show your driver's license from your home country your passport and other forms of identification as well. Lastly, it's important that the credit card used to book the rental vehicle matches the name on your license and passport. Some other requirements for international car rentals are:

• Age restrictions: You must be at least 25 in many countries to rent a car. If you're younger than that, it might still be possible to rent a car but you'll have to pay a Young Driver's Surcharge. Additional restrictions may also apply to the types of vehicles available to rent.
• Driving limitations: Make sure you read the rules and regulations before driving away. Typically, you can't cross country borders, drive onto ferries or on certain types of rugged terrain with a rental car.
