“A stunning house in a great character full town! The property catered for all our needs, especially with 9 kids ranging from 3 to 16. The hosts were extremely accommodating and very helpful which made the stay even more relaxing and enjoyable. Excideuil is a beautiful town with great shops and there are a number of lovely restaurants in both the town and the surrounding area. The market on Thursday is also superb. “We were with 8 adults and had a lovely stay in the Perigord region with quiet surroundings. Just the sound of a lot of birds keeps you awake during the day. The castle is very well equipped and decorated and not to big, neither to small. It fits the number of guests very good. You can visit several nice little towns(one or two stars Michelin!) but make cycle or walking tours as well. In short: lovely castle and park, everything you need is there.”

“We are two families 4 adults and 4 children (age 6-10) and have recently stayed for 1 week at Chateau Madame. Our first view of the chateau was from its imposing position on the hillside which could be seen from several kilometres away basking in the evening sun as we approached. There is a 400m meandering drive up the hillside toward Chateau Madame that provides a secluded and safe setting. “We chose Château de Moncieux as the venue for a big family holiday - for our children and grandchildren. We were not disappointed. We were fortunate to have good weather and the pool was the focus of all our activities. There was plenty of space in the house for everyone to lose themselves when they wanted to and the lounges were huge and comfortable as wee the bedrooms. Victor, the caretaker, was very friendly and helpful when needed. An excellent holiday venue”
