The upper fall at Old Man's cave are likely the most well known and photographed in the park. If you want to see the falls at their peak, head there in late winter/early spring just as the snow melts and preferably after a heavy rain fall. Also if your schedule permits, head there on a weekday morning and you just might have the place to yourself for a bit. Old Man's Cave derives its name from the hermit Richard Rowe who lived in the large recess cave of the gorge. Rowe lived out his life in the area and is buried beneath the ledge of the main recess cave.
Lower Falls at Old Man's Cave is one of the iconic vistas in the Hocking Hills State Park area. If you do a little homework ahead of time, you can see a lot of waterfalls with minimal hiking in this part of Ohio. #Trovember

The hard work put into the structure and creation of the treehouse was very much appreciated. Only catch was the Keurig, but we left a not on the counter about that one. One small recommendation, maybe using gravel where the steps are to help filter water and keep the wood from becoming slippery ...

Fall Colors in Logan Canyon

Logan

Conkles Hollow is a state nature preserve within the Hocking Hills region. Its sheer cliffs of Black Hand sandstone rise nearly 200 feet above the valley floor. The deep, cool gorge, which is only 100 feet wide in places and is considered to be the deepest in Ohio, has numerous waterfalls cascading over its sandstone cliffs. The lower trail through the gorge is about 1 mile and is accessible for the most casual of hikers. The rim trail is a couple miles long and is a bit more strenuous.
