I chose this B&B because it was more distant from the city and because I liked the 'vibe' I got from the ads..quiet, beautiful setting and laid back. I'm happy to say, it was exactly what I hoped for.
The B&B, a lovingly restored traditional farmhouse, sits atop a ridgeline that offers a spectacular view of the fortress town of Todi, the vineyards that surround the area, and the beautiful landscape Umbria is famous for. I sat outside the night we were there, chatted with the owner, Lorenzo, and watched the sun set. So relaxing!
The B&B was clean, comfortable, and tastefully decorated. The Wifi there was faster and more stable than any other place I stayed in Europe! Breakfast was not a full buffet, but it was adequate and simple. The couple that run the B&B couldn't be nicer, and I had a great time talking with Lorenzo that evening. His English is native-like and he is quite an interesting and accomplished person. Oh, and I met the cats, who introduced themselves to me.
Finally, I have to say, I underestimated how difficult it was to get around in Umbria without a car. Lorenzo had warned me, but I still didn't realize how little bus or even taxi service was available. Lorenzo kindly picked us up at Todi and took us to the B&B, and the next day even took us to Torgiano (about 30km away). I'd say that this was above-and-beyond any expectation I had of kindness to strangers! Thanks again, Lorenzo!
