If you wanna travel Halong Bay, tell the front manager and he would friendly recommend you the best trip. Among everything, what's great about this hotel is the location :) nice restaurants, nice beer place, beautiful lake are just around. It would be very crowded and you gotta always keep an eye on bikes but, you can literally enjoy everything here. It is within walkable distance to almost everything, everything if you enjoy walks. The room is comfortable and quiet, considering situated on a very busy street. I had many good sleeps even when traffic is horrendous outside. Staff is friendly and attentive. Also perhaps it is better to book ride to and from the airport with them? I paid over 500k viet dong for a one way trip from the airport to the hotel by taxi. When I booked the trip back with the hotel, it was only 300k. It is quite reasonable. I wish I had known before or the hotel had emailed and offered the service. Wish we had booked this place on the front end of our trip in Hanoi! We only stumbled across it because the end of our trip our previous hotel was booked. Lucky for us! This place is situated perfectly in the Old Quarter with a close walk to everything. It's down the by lake plaza so off the main roads, which was nice since we didn't have to march through the crowded and noisy streets to get to this area. We booked the family room which did not face the road so it was very quiet. The room was quite large with a kitchenette and sitting area as well. Very comfortable for our family of three. I will go back here for sure if we visit Hanoi again in the future. The staff was friendly and helpful as well. Thank you Maro Hotel!
