The return trip was much better than outgoing, but I had my seat selection too. I find the issues are with space. I’ve traveled since 1979 and the changes in seating spacing is abominable. It’s down to the millimeters for space with no consideration of economy clients. When you have to use your feet to lift a part of the under seat items to be able to non-visually pick them up, or when you want to rest on the table to sleep but the head huts the top part of the forward seat because there’s no room to move lower, it’s an issue. I don’t travel much by plane because of this. I could travel more and for shorter distances but won’t as it’s so awful an experience. I call it cattle class. Having been around country life it see the similarities. The cost to travel is high and coupled with the cattle class experience, it’s not worth the cost, time savings or experience. I get the fiscal needs of an airline but the cost from my perspective is too great. I’d rather travel by bus than air and train travel is above going by bus. Both offer what the airlines have lost for the vast majority of travelers. But, many are willing to go along for convenience, but I only travel via air out of necessity because of this. I’m sure there’s others but so long as you continue to fill planes, I don’t expect any changes for those who aren’t eligible for an upgrade to business or such from frequent travels. I won’t frequent travel as it’s so painful to experience and I have a choice to drive to my closer destinations within a days car travel. However, with my day car travel it could be just as long or longer with flights schedules so the car is easier, cheaper and more comfortable. A statement in itself.
I haven’t flown American Airlines in years. I was pleasantly surprised.
The plane was old
Cabinet floor is not very clean and has lots of dusts.
Wi-Fi was terrible. I paid 3 times but it barely worked for the whole flight.
The food on United Flights is terrible. No fruit or vegetables. Lots of starch and fillers. Bathrooms could be cleaned mis flight. Not enough bathrooms in economy for long flights. Always a line. Chinese staff refuses to speak my native language Chinese with me because I am not racially Chinese.
lost one of my luggage again!
Your survey needs at least a middle category between the smiley and frowny faces!! One toilet was nonfunctional at start-up. They ran out of red wine BEFORE lunch! The one hour of wifi was outrageously priced ($5 or 700 miles) if all had gone well, more so given that it was extremely slow one could get nothing to load. By the time I finished accessinf info about the letters of recommendation I had to write, my time had run out!
