A well presented and very functional compact apartment. Lobby staff are extremity friendly & welcoming. We stayed in room 110 which was very comfy. The kitchen was quite functional to prepare food though could have done with some more utensils/cutlery/crockery. Though most people that stay will opt to eat out in the evening as we did but we also like to make our own breakfast. But a nice kitchen and a nice table and chairs to eat inside or out on the balcony. The balcony is situated within the internal walls of the surrounding buildings so not much of a view but still a nice option. The bed and sofa both comfy and tv has lots of channels. The bathroom was clean and tidy but did lack wow factor. I do expect a bit of wow factor with a bathroom if im paying decent money. The shower head was broken so if you lifted the head out of the holder water came out of the pipe instead of the shower head. Surley the cleaner would have noticed this ? but despite this the shower worked well with lots of water pressure. Lift works ! handy if you have a suitcase to take up. It can be quite noisy on a weekend due to the lively nightlife but if you are into bars,pub, restaurants etc you wont be disappointed. 10 minute walk to the Thames embankment or St Paul’s/Tower of London/Spitalfields/Leadenhall all within a stones throw. Soho/Covent Garden a few mins by tube. Liverpool St Station is across the road. Overall id give this an 8/10.

The room wasn't ready when we arrived at 3:30 though the booking said ready by 3. It didn't take too long but was a bit annoying. The room itself was lovely though it was a bit strange to not have a bin and I would have liked more coffee etc. We got a wake up call at 5am which we didn't ask for. When we checked out I brought this up and we were told it was a mistake and the person apologised but I would have preferred if they apologised without me prompting and maybe offered us some kind of compensation. I have issues sleeping so it was really quite disruptive. I did wonder if it was because we were clearly not well off and the place is quite posh. I don't have an issue with someone making a mistake but seems weird not to apologise.

The apartment was great - getting in the property was tricky at first as code didn't work and property manager didn't respond but beyond that was good. the hallway and elevator was very dirty on arrival. the apartment was good though. nice size/quality

Great location, close to transport

Fabulous flat. The only big problem was that it was five flights of stairs up and it doesn’t state that in the description. With two 20kg suitcases this was not fun!!

This is a spectacular place! The rooms are beautiful, well maintained. Staff very professional. The breakfast is excellent! Would definitely return!

My husband and I stayed at Riu The Westminster last night - it has fallen incredibly short of the minimum expectation a hotel has placed upon it - a good night’s sleep and good hygiene. We checked in fairly late after going to the theatre - approximately 10:30/10:45pm. We were staying in room 842. On the surface the room appeared clean, I noticed a very slight odour from the shower but nothing to warrant ringing reception at that point. I woke several times, the last time I woke was just after 4:30am to the most horrendous smell - to the point I was nauseous and trying not to retch. We located the smell - the shower. We opened the window, got dressed and telephoned reception - this was approximately 4:45am. Someone arrived at our room to inspect and to pour something down the drain. We asked to swap rooms and were initially told maintenance would be in at 7am. They opened the shower door and immediately agreed we couldn’t stay as the smell was horrendous. After a few minutes he reappeared with who we presume was the night manager, who immediately could smell it too. They were apologetic and we moved rooms to room 919. At 6:48am our door was opened by house keeping - woke us up - startled, we called “hello”. I could see a female member of staff in the mirror. We ended up with about 4 hours sleep. The breakfast would have been average, but was cold so we rank it as poor. It’s not the experience we expected from Riu - we’re certainly not the only ones that have had this issue.

After staying at a number of similarly priced hotels in London, this one stands out. The location and hotel were great. I would definitely recommend this hotel.
