Save on Fourth of July and summer travel using new “Last minute booking” filter on the Vrbo app

The early bird is not the only one who gets the worm. Today, Vrbo announced Last Minute Deals, giving last-minute planners an easy way to save on their next private vacation rental booking. Last Minute Deals are now live on the Vrbo app and site and show travelers discounted properties they can book within 30 days of check-in.  

Nearly 300K Last Minute Deals are now available on Vrbo and finding them is simple with the “Last minute booking” filter – an industry-first for vacation rentals. Travelers can use the “Last minute booking” filter in the Vrbo app to narrow down searches for properties offering deals for their selected travel dates. Discounted vacation rentals are also labeled with a “Last minute” badge that displays the total amount travelers can save on their booking. 

Vrbo introduced Last Minute Deals just in time for peak beach and lake season. With the Fourth of July holiday quickly approaching, procrastinators, spontaneous travelers and the cost-conscious can save hundreds of dollars on lake houses or beachfront condos that are still available on Vrbo for the holiday or the remainder of summer. 

“The Fourth of July is one of the busiest travel times of the year, but it’s not too late to book a vacation home to enjoy the holiday – even in our most popular destinations,” said Larry Plawsky, General Manager at Vrbo. “Last Minute Deals give families a great way to save on summer vacation, while helping hosts keep their properties booked year-round. It’s a win-win.” 

Some of Vrbo’s top summer destinations offering Last Minute Deals include: 

• Hilton Head, South Carolina.: Surrounded by marshland, this island is known for pristine beaches, world-class golf and Lowcountry charm. Travelers can save more than $80 on a 2-night stay at this idyllic vacation rental just a short drive from the beach. 

• Cape Cod, Massachusetts: This quintessential New England destination is known for its seaside villages, windswept beaches, historic lighthouses and fresh seafood. Save over 10% on this Provincetown stay with Vrbo’s new Last Minute Deals. 

• San Diego, California: This vibrant coastal city is famous for its year-round sunshine and stunning beaches. Spontaneous travelers can save more than $150 on a 2-night stay at this oceanfront Mission Beach home. 

• Puerto Vallarta, Mexico: Lush mountains meet the Pacific Ocean in this coastal city, offering cobblestone streets, vibrant culture and golden beaches. This modern oceanside condo offers a deal for last-minute planners. 

In addition to saving on last-minute vacation rental bookings, travelers never have to second-guess the total cost – Vrbo displays all mandatory fees in the upfront price. Last month, Vrbo added a ‘No hidden fees’ pop-up on the site and app to remind travelers that the listed price includes all fees.
