There are also plenty of biking and hiking tracks aroundLake Ohau. They include the 5-mile (8-kilometer) Lake Ohau Track along the lake's shores. If you're looking for something more strenuous, hike up 4,993 feet (1,522 meters) to the summit ofBen Ohau Peak. This trek is part of theGreta Track, a 10-mile (16-kilometer) loop.
Spend a day at the lake and embrace the tranquility. Go for a swim, sunbathe and kayak on the still waters. Fish for trout and salmon.
