Description

Experience the beauty of Banff National Park from a saddle on this horseback ride through your choice of trails departing from stables close to downtown Banff.

Whether you're a novice rider or advanced, there's a friendly horse to fit your needs. Riding instructions are given on site and you're free to ask your guide any questions. While on the trail, lead and trail riders are there to assist you and provide their own insight into the magnificent natural surroundings.

An experienced photographer is also on hand to snap your picture as you mount your horse and head out on the trail. These photographs are available for purchase upon your return.

Bow River Ride (1 hour): Pass the natural mineral springs that flow from the historic Cave and Basin area. Your trail then loops around a marsh and follows the Bow River back to the stables.

Sundance Loop Ride (2 hours): Follow the Bow River trail and then head up Sulphur Mountain and around the Windy Knoll viewpoint. Snap pictures of the dazzling Canadian Rocky Mountains as you climb before looping back around the marsh.

Sulphur Mountain Ride (3 hours):From snow-capped mountains and sparkling waterfalls to roaring rivers and thick alpine forests, this trip takes you from the bustling Banff town-site. You'll past Bow Falls, cross the Spray River, and climb two thirds of the way up Sulphur Mountain along wooded trails. On the descent you’ll ride along the base of Mount Rundle to the Bow Falls and cross the Spray River once more.

Very safe experience. Front guide was only one that provided information about the area along the way, which made it difficult for anyone past the front 3 people to hear.

Staff were friendly, knowledgeable, informative and fun. The horses were well kept and well trained, hardly a stomp when a deer jumped across our path! Fall is the perfect time of year for a ride, the colours are spectacular and best of all: no bugs!
