Description

Spend a full day exploring the beautiful beaches, spotting the distant islands, and pondering the quirky artwork in and around Uruguay's Punta del Este, one of the trendiest seaside resorts in South America. Travel with an expert and immerse yourself in the arresting sights.

Get picked up from your Montevideo hotel and discover Casapueblo, an abstract hotel designed by Uruguayan artist Carlos Páez Vilaró, which served as his residence and contains a number of fascinating galleries. Drive along Mansa Beach until you reach the peninsula of Punta del Este, where the yacht port and marina contribute to the seaside vibe.

Stand on Ocean Beach and spot Isla de Lobos in the distance, and walk around the massive fingers rising from the sand, _La Mano (The Hand). Take a short tour of Piriapolis Beach, and admire the hills around the beach from the top of San Antonio Mount. On the way back to your hotel, admire forested scenery on the hills.

Pick-up was 20 minutes after expected. Was transferred to a larger bus. Even though I was the only person on the tour not speaking Spanish. The guide who was transferring back and forward between languages and made sure I was aware of the main points. Provided Good information en-route to Punta Del Este. Aprrox 2 1/2 hours free time in Punte. As this was winter time, even after time taken for lunch this was a little long. Would be perfect in Summer time. Taken directly to my hotel in the big bus.

Very good day tour if you want to visit PDE. The pickup was on time and the tour guide spoke in english, Portuguese and Spanish. If you 2 1/2 hours in PDE to have lunch and walk around for photos and shopping. Foreigners do not have to pay any taxes on purchases when using a credit card.

This tour is one of the best tour I have ever taken. It was very organized, has a great tour guide and surprise me with the places it covered, I loved Piriapolis and Museo Casapueblo. I also greatly enjoy all the stories and history of the places we went, the houses we saw, ant the time to explore Punta del Este. I highly recommend it.
