After driving through the Lamar Valley you will pass the Lamar River Stock Trailhead. This trailhead is for horse users. There are two latrines at this location. This is your last civilized bathroom location. The hiker trailhead is another 0.25 mile upstream. This large parking lot for the Lamar River Trail has no latrines. If you get out of your vehicle you will see a small footbridge. From Cooke City, MT: The trailhead is 18.3 miles from Cooke City (30 minutes). It is located approximately 0.5 mile past the small, white Soda Butte thermal formation.

沿着小路用双筒望远镜观察野生动物，如野牛、叉角羚、熊、狼、麋鹿、獾、鸟类等。徒步穿越拉马尔山谷到达拉马尔河，在河边享用野餐。沿途停下来闻一闻鼠尾草的味道。一边欣赏绵延数英里的广阔风景，一边沉浸在美洲原住民的历史中。跟随导游在世界第一个国家公园的野牛小径上游览。
