Description

Take a fun and adventurous trip by glass-bottom kayak to explore Aruba's underwater world and visit the largest mangrove forest in Aruba. Navigate the calm and shallow waters with a guide, stop at hidden beaches for a swim, and get up-close looks at the area's marine life through the clear bottom of your kayak.

Before starting this eco-friendly tour, meet your multilingual guide at the beach of Mangel Halto. Board a shuttle bound for Santo Largo in Savaneta, and then hop off to go through a brief safety orientation and pick up some tips on proper paddling technique. When you're ready, hop in and head out.

Glide through crystal-clear water and over vibrant coral reefs, looking for blue parrot fish as they dart around the bottom of your boat. Make your way to the area's mangrove forests, explore this tranquil environment passing through tunnels of mangroves, and stop at the secluded sands of Isla di Oro for a refreshing swim. End your active day on the water with some fresh fruit at Mangel Halto Beach.

I booked this on accident, meant to do the sunset one and did the afternoon mangrove one instead, as far as mistakes go I think I was happier with this than I would have been with the sunset one. You start at Mangel Halto beach (nice little bar, and plenty of open beach if you get there early or stay a bit after), and they drive you to the start. You kayak up the coast, through a mangrove forest, back out and down the coast, finishing at Mangel. Luis and his teammate were great. Lots of information, and amazing service. The group ran into issues of water building up in the kayak (they are clear tubs you sit in, no where for it to go) and they have pumps or swap kayaks with you to tip it out, then you switch back. The mangroves are great and isla de oro is gorgeous. We ran into a small issue with the water level being low that day for unknown reasons and they adjusted on the fly to make sure we go the full experience. Be sure to ask about the abandoned "ship" when you get to it.

Fun trip! Note that it definitely involves some open-ocean waves and moments of intense kayaking. Overall great guides!
