Brilliant accomodation
Maddie (the owner)was there if required and very helpful. Well equipped and quiet place to stay. If you have children there is a vast amount od toys and a toy shed. There are chickens at the end of the garden and love to be fed any scraps you have left. The garden is well kept and very pleasant. I give it 5 stars.

Perfect for a holiday with small children
Like many reviews stated, this house is perfect for a stay with young children. Everything you need is there: children's cutlery, cots, changing mat, baby bath, high chair and many many many toys. Whenever we left my son kept asking: when will we return, I want to play there! Ideal to have a washing machine and dish washer as well. There is a lot to do in the area, so you won't be bored a bit. Small things for improvement: safety 'gate' downstairs as well (there is one upstairs) so children won't climb the stairs by themselves. The fence is placed for privacy (so we think) however this blocks the view from the house at the garden, so it makes it a bit harder to watch your children. There are so many plates, cups and glasses that you could use a different one every day and still be eating from a new plate after a week. This does mean that there is hardly room to store your groceries. If you want a holiday with very small children where you can sit back, relax on your sun chair and have them play in the garden: simply book it! Be aware this is one holiday home, connected to another one in the same building with an openly connected garden. No problem for us. You can hear the neighbors through the walls as well as people walking upstairs in the mezzanine in your own home. Maddy is an absolutely lovely host. Ready to help you in whatever way, very quickly responding and she wrote a nice guest guide to help you to find your way. We would definetely return.

Great house for kids
Really enjoyed our stay. Lots of toys for the kids, really enjoyed the fresh veg and eggs and feeding the chickens, and Maddie was lovely. 2 bedrooms are on a mezzanine level with a balcony down to the ground floor. Worked out fine for the kids but would have liked to have known before booking

There are three bedrooms at La Maisment : one on the ground floor with a kingsize bed and a cot. And two on the mezzanine : one with a double bed and the other with two singles and a cot. Sorry that detail wasn't clear in the property description section of the ad, I do try to be as explicit as possible - I'll have to look into it ;-)

A lovely Gite and location for a family holiday
We had a wonderful break at la Maisment. Our two young daughters (4 and 1) loved the toys in the house and in the garden. They also adored the chickens and spotting fish and frogs in the pond. The location is fantastic - in a quiet village, if you just want to relax at home, but with plenty of things to see nearby and close to a town for supermarkets and other amenities. The children loved swimming in the lake in Brionne. We also visited Chateaus, Moulin Amour (30 mins drive away) and local markets. Maddie was a fantastic host, great communication and ensured we had everything we needed. It is well equipped for young children (cot, high chair, potty, baby bath, toys, books). Other reviews have commented on the children’s bedroom being on the mezzanine and so open to downstairs - we didn’t find this a problem as we sat outside on the patio area in the evening while the children went to sleep. The children loved their bedroom/playroom. We had a fantastic time and would highly recommend staying here.

Very restful place, even with a toddler!
Really lovely place to stay with an 18 month child, very well kitted out. She would have quite happily played in the garden with all the toys and watched the chickens all day every day! Lots to explore without needing to travel very far. Very peaceful place to stay, we thoroughly enjoy our visit.

Lovely cottage for exploring this beautiful area.
A very clean, comfortable and well equipped cottage. Excellently positioned for access to so many places of interest across this area of Normandy. In spite of rain at some point of most days, we were able to find somewhere to visit on each of our 10 days, and discovered there was so much more that we just didn't have time to fit in. Definitely going to need a return visit, The owners provide lots of information on the local area and the best ways to reach various towns and attractions. They also provided a welcome pack of food stuffs that was very well thought out - everything you need on arrival before you have chance to get to the supermarket. They were very easy to contact and quick to respond when we needed to get in touch or ask for advice. Our only suggestion would be that the property description should make it clearer that access to the main bedroom is actually via the bathroom and that La Maisment does adjoin another cottage, Le Batison. Although each property has its own patio/dining area, much of the garden facilities are shared. Whilst this didn't cause us a problem on this visit (the other property was only occupied for 3 days of the 10 we were staying) if the weather had been better and we had wanted to make use of the sun loungers, we would not have had any privacy if a family staying in the adjacent cottage had been using the children's play equipment or were accessing the parking area. This aside, we had a lovely holiday, one of the most comfortable beds we have had in a holiday cottage, and found more to recommend about this property than to find fault with. Our thanks and appreciation to Maddie and Bruno for being such wonderful hosts and looking after us so well.

Thank you Jane, for taking the time to write a review. We are so pleased that you enjoyed your stay and found plenty to do in this area. Sorry that it wasn't clear that our second holiday home, Le Batison, is next to La Maisment. We have tried to make them as independent as possible, each having their own private patios : La Maisment is south facing (you can have breakfast in the sun in the summer months) whereas Le Batison is facing west so you get the afternoon and evening sunshine. However they are hidden from each other by high, wooden fence panels to respect our guests' privacy. It is true that the play area for children is shared and many a friendship has been made on the swingset, but the Batison does have its own private lawn alongside its patio. Unfortunately when you were here we had just finished tarmacking the carparks and hadn't yet got the fence up to camouflage the view from the carparks. This is the our next job on the agenda and will be done shortly - definitely before you return here to visit all the sites you didn't have time to see on your first visit.

Great place for kids
The house was lovely - simple but had everything we needed. The kids rooms upstairs are on a mezzanine so not ideal for those younger ones who need to tune out to go to sleep, but the place had all the amenities needed and the garden the kids just couldn't get enough of!

Maddie was a good host. We were welcomed with plenty of fresh food for a wonderful breakfast including eggs from Maddie's own chickens. The house was clean, comfortable and well equipped. Het vakantiehuisje is knus en netjes. Alle dagelijkse broodnodige benodigdheden staan ter beschikking. Allerlei speelgoed, spelletjes enzovoort staan uitnodigend in functie van het kind. Als ik dan èèn opmerking mag maken, de mezzanine lijkt me enkel geschikt voor kleine - en of opgroeiende kinderen. Het huisje wordt aangeboden met drie slaapkamers, wat overdreven lijkt Dit mag anders omschreven worden. Men zou meteen denken aan zes volwassen personen, maar vergis u niet! Daarvoor is de ruimte veel te klein en onpraktisch. Gelukkig waren wij met vier en dat lukte net.

Dank u voor uw opmerkingen. Ik ben blij dat je een goed verblijf hebt gehad. Ik dacht dat ik in de beschrijving duidelijk had gemaakt dat zelfs als er drie kamers zijn, La Maisment geschikt is voor maximaal 4 personen, een paar en twee kinderen, of twee koppels. Niet meer.

Sehr kinderfreundliches Ferienhaus in ländlicher Gegend mit vielen Ausflugszielen in der Nähe. Hilfsbereite Vermieterin. Haus selbst ist grosszügig ausgestattet und beinhaltet viele Spielmöglichkeiten für die Kinder.

Suite à la canicule nous n'avons pas pu utiliser les deux couchages de l'étage : Température excessive et absence de toutes fenêtres ouvrant sur l'extérieur (non précisé sur annonce) en conséquence avons dû déménager tous les soirs pour couchage au sol pour deux personnes dans le salon .

Je suis vraiment navrée de lire votre commentaire, et surtout navrée que vous ne m'en avez pas parlé lorsque nous nous sommes vus à plusieurs reprises pendant votre séjour. J'aurai pu essayer de trouver une solution, déjà un ventilateur supplémentaire aurait pu vous aider. Il est vrai que nous avons subi la canicule, mais si on laisse les portes et volets fermés pendant la journée lorsque l'on sort, on arrive à garder la fraicheur à l'intérieur. Dommage qu'il n'y a pas eu de communication à ce sujet. Ensemble nous aurions pu trouver une solution.

Très bon séjour, tout y est, très adapté pour les enfants. Petit bémol, l'insonorisation dans la maison, le parquet craque énormément et dans la maison voisine. Par contre un accueil irréprochable, des hôtes très à l'écoute et très attentionnés!!! Le top!! Jardin très bien et dispose de tous les équipements pour petits et grands. Une maison idéale pour y passer d'agréables vacances. Merci

Geweldige vakantie
We hebben, ondanks COVID 19, een geweldige vakantie gehad. Het is een compleet huisje waar niets ontbrak. Zelfs over de extra loge werd niet moeilijk gedaan. Het enige wat ons een beetje tegenviel, mede omdat het niet duidelijk uit de omschrijving bleek, was dat het twee huizen in een tuin waren. Het heeft geen problemen gegeven, maar het was fijn om dit van te voren te weten. Verder is Maddie een geweldige gastvrouw die het begin van de vakantie perfect verzorgd met een startpakket voor het ontbijt de volgende dag. En natuurlijk niet te vergeten de verse eitjes, tomaten en komkommers. Al met al een aanrader en wie weet nog eens voor ons als weer naar Normandië gaan.

Relaxing in a calm and peacefull home
We had a wonderfull stay at Aclou in a calm environment. The house had everything you needed. The kids loved the garden and all the toys. They also loved feeding the chickens. Maddie was very kind and we were thankfull for the eggs and vegetables she gave us. For us it's a place to come back to.

La maison est adorable, l'accueil de Maddie très sympathique. Elle a été parfaitement disponible. La maison est excellemment équipée en termes de matériels pour enfants (deux lits bébés, deux lits enfants). Malheureusement une des pièces était indisponibles à cause du Covid (rotation des jouets d'une semaine sur l'autre), ce qui est tout à l'honneur de Maddie.

Très bon séjour en famille
Nous avons passé une semaine de repos en famille très agréable. La maison est relativement petite mais confortable, propre et l'accueil de Maddie est excellent. Rien ne manque pour une famille avec un bébé de 8 mois et enfant de 7 ans. Nous avons apprécié la proximité des poules (même si en cette saison, elles ne pondent pas... ce que j'ignorais). Nous avons joué au croquet comme dans Alice au pays des merveilles et avons essayé de tenir sur les échasses. Un jeu de boules "adulte" serait bienvenu. La maison est bien située pour le ravitaillement (en voiture) mais l'endroit manque de sentiers pour se promener... nous avons trouver un seul chemin accessible à pied après 15 mm de marche sur une petite route et il faut prendre la voiture pour rejoindre le GR 224. Bon, c'est vrai qu'en été on peut s'en doute se satisfaire du jardin, mais en hiver en Normandie nous aimons marcher... Merci à Maddie pour son accueil et sa jolie maison.

Très bon accueil de Maddie et c'est agréable d'avoir le 1er petit déjeuner d'offert. Très bon séjour au calme. La maison était très bien et fonctionnelle. Jardin agréable et les jumeaux et le papa on apprécié de nourrir les poules tous les jours.

Nous sommes toujours contents de voir les enfants s'amuser dans la cabane dans le jardin et découvrir les jeux et jouets à leur disposition. Enfants heureux = parents heureux, donc tout le monde passe un bon séjour. Merci Olivier, d'avoir choisi La Maisment.

Maison agréable
Nous avons passé un agréable séjour dans cette maison très propre et très fonctionnelle surtout avec un enfant de 2 ans. Maddie a le soucis du détail et vous y trouverez plusieurs attention qui font plaisir en arrivant. Le jardin avec de nombreux jeux pour enfants de tout âge et le poulailler ont fait le bonheur de notre petit garçon. Le beau temps étant au rendez vous, nous avons pu profiter du lac de Brionne (5min en voiture) pour nous baigner, promener et faire du manège :-) Le parc du Château d'Harcourt vaut aussi le détour avec plusieurs jeux proposés pour les enfants et des lieux de détente à l'ombre sont aussi prévus.

Nous avons vraiment apprécié cette villégiature en pleine nature dans un gite coquet où nous nous sommes sentis très à l'aise. En outre nous avons bénéficié d'une météo très sympathique qui nous a permis d'évoluer agréablement dans les environs, riches en monuments et curiosités. Séjour très plaisant !
Nous avons passé un très agréable séjour à La Maisment. La maison dispose de tout le confort nécessaire (mais attention 2 des 3 chambres sont sur la mezzanine et non fermées). Le jardin est formidable pour les familles : transats confortables pour les parents et une grande quantité de jeux pour les enfants (balançoire, toboggan, vélos et nombreux autres jouets). Une super base de loisirs est située à seulement 3km et il y a plusieurs visites à effectuer dans les environs. Nous recommandons pour les familles qui recherchent un séjour calme à la campagne

Nous sommes heureux que vous ayez passé un bon séjour à la Maisment. C'est vrai nous avons la base de loisirs à 5 minutes en voiture où l'on peut faire plein d'activités - kayak, pêche, tennis, mini-golf ou juste se faire bronzer sur la plage :-) - parfait pour des vacances en famille.
