Great service and location!
Hotel staff was friendly and accommodating. Overall great service! The only place I would stay in Val Thorens.

The hotel is in an excellent location in the centre of town. The staff are very friendly and helpful, however the rooms are a little tired. We had some issues with hot water in the shower and a curtain rail needed replacing in our room. The ski/boot lockers are not to the standard you'd expect from a 5 star hotel. Overall though a lovely hotel in an excellent location.

Great location. Relaxed 5 star. Really friendly staff. Lovely hotel. The only negative was really uncomfortable pillows and they had no alternatives.

Perfect spot on the slopes in Val Thorens
Absolutely perfect location for skiing in Val Thorens. Staff are all so friendly and helpful. Only 2 quibbles were that the room was very hot (despite turning all heating off) and we had a room with an interconnecting door which meant we got a lot of noise from our neighbours. These were very minor things though and we will definitely be back!

Good: Welcoming hotel (collected us from bus depot). Lovely lounge and log fire Couldn't be closer to the slopes. Good ski locker room Good dining room (but expensive €120-140 for 2 course meal + wine for 2 people) Not so good: - Despite booking a junior suite, the room was very small. Tiny bathroom (2m x 2m), limited toileteries, loo that didn't flush properly. -There is an upstairs bed on a balcony, but there is little privacy between upstairs and downstairs. - Very limited tea/coffee facilities - Very expensive bar (£12 for a glass of wine, £10 for a G&T) - Poor breaakfast - continential unless you want to pay more (€8 for an omlette) - Hotel added 7% to ski passes without telling us at the time of booking.

very disappointed the Expedia guests get the worst rooms, even when i rang the hotel and asked for quiet area rooms . Expedia stated balcony for one of the rooms however it was a general use terrace!!! even though paid the same price as a room with private balcony!!

Best location in Val Thorens
Location is superb and right in the centre of the action for both ski and evening activities. Everything is well maintained and the staff are friendly. Having travelled a lot I’d rate this as more of a 4*plus hotel (not that there is anything wrong with that!) than a 5* on account of the breakfast (supplement for eggs! And further supplement for salmon!) and the service (reception and concierge double up and often pretty chaotic) but overall I enjoyed the visit and would return.

Best stay in VT but could be better
Although very good stay we were the last family staying in the hotel before it closed for the season. The last days did feel like they were running down and at the end of our last day we were only able to change in the luggage room (a cupboard) before setting off! All the staff were great but in a 5* hotel we didn't expect to have to request the tea/coffee to be replaced because housekeeping hadn't done it on a few days! We were half board and tried the other hotel for one night, we regretted it as food better in fitz roy.

Excellent stay.
Great service and helped us out when we turned up late at night when our booked accommodation turned out to be a let down. An excellent stay which was comfortable and in a quiet location but also we were able to ski/board out of and back to if you choose the right run to finish on! Was nice to relax in the pool, sauna and steam room after a day on the piste. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. Also easy to walk out to local restaurants and bars.

We had a wonderful stay at Le Fitz Roy for a long weekend of skiing. The staff were brilliant, helpful with parking, luggage and restaurant bookings. The hotel has a lovely cosy ambience, perfect as a cosy base-station.

22/1/2018 Visited this hotel over 8 years ago several times and was excellent. On returning this year (1 week ago) I found the quality and preparation of food was very standard for a 5* hotel i.e. if on half board just one menu with around 6 options for main course for the whole week, some of them you even had to pay a supplement leaving only 3 choices without a supplement same with the starters and deserts - very poor. Drinks also are extremely expensive in the hotel around 22 euros for a gin and tonic. Staff however were lovely, very friendly and accommodating. Most certainly need to up their standards in the Kitchen.

Very central hotel, ski in & ski out
This hotel is very central to shops, bars, restaurants and ski shops. Breakfast is fantastic and worth buying as a package. Service is 10/10 staff are very helpful and dinning at the hotel was like eating at a michelin restaurant (compliment to the chef). My advice is to pick a room with a Mountain View, worth every cent. You will also be provided with your own ski locker and you can purchase your ski pass at reception. Next time I’m in Val Thorens I will be staying at Le Fitz Roy!

Excellent hotel, with charm and great service!
Very warm, professional welcome, including tour of hotel. Attentive service, we only had to ask once about something and it was sorted. Lovely spa facilities and delicious breakfasts (especially the eggs!) Brilliant access to the pistes and other restaurants. We would like to have eaten there in the evening but the menu whilst interesting was perhaps a little too elaborate for our teenage sons' tastes. We would definitely return.

Beautiful and comfortable hotel
The Hotel Fitz Roy is a beautiful modern hotel located in the centre of the ski resort, positioned right on the slopes. The check-in was very friendly and efficient and included a small tour of the hotel and amenities. The whole hotel had beautiful decor, mixing wood with modern designs. The room was very comfortable and was cleaned to a high standard twice per day. The only problem with the room is that it got very hot, especially at night. There were some times where the balcony door had to be opened at night as we could not sleep due to the heat. Other than that, the room was beautiful and so comfortable; perfect for relaxing after a hard day's skiing.

Great location with ski-in, ski-out, some of the staff were very courteous. When we arrived, the room given was too tiny, a bit odd and noisy too. We then found out the bed of the ensuite room next door was above our bed. We did not enjoy our stay on our first two nights. However, the hotel changed the room for us. We enjoyed our 3rd and 4th night at this hotel very much afterwards.

Great 5* Ski in, Ski out!
Excellent 5* ski in, ski out hotel in VT. There were only two things that let this hotel down... 1. Wifi quality / speed needs to be improved. 2. The half board option included supplements on most of the menu options which is unreasonable in my mind. If you offer the half board, offer it and I don't mind if one or two options such as the filet steak or lobster have a supplement! All considered though, this is a high quality hotel, with a great spa, with high quality service and staff, in an unbeatable position for skiing.

Nice hotel, great location, superb staff
Hotel is very nice, and superbly located on the slopes, but the staff really made it fantastic, particularly the receptionist who helped sort out a different room for us with a better balcony, and the manager who assisted with this request. Can't speak highly enough of the service. Thank you.

Booked hotel as honeymoon treat and were very much looking forward to a few 5 star luxury comforts but were very disappointed. Despite the hotel being clean and of a nice appearance it turned out to be severely lacking those 5 star qualities e.g hot spa bath in the pool area, tea/coffee facilities in the room or even a comfortable bed in a quiet room. The room was far too small to manoeuvre in with ski luggage. Staff weren't as friendly as you'd expect and very inconsistent some guests were offered omelettes for breakfast while others were not. Not a bad hotel just definitely not 5 star £225 a night accommodation and nearby accommodations seemed to be more welcoming and comfortable for much lesser cost.

really enjoyed our stay at Le Fitz Roy, comfortable settings, stunning design playing with natural materials (stone, wood, fir) in an imaginative way and positioning them so one can notice and admire the circles in a wood piece, for example; beautiful and comfy bar area with even bettter staff - professional, attentive, naturally interested in their guests, with good knowledge of local wines and spirits; we enjoyed the bar nibbles immensely (chef is very much into olive tapenades); clean rooms and public areas; staff at Reception very friendly and helpful;

Old fashioned hotel, great location.
Very good first impressions. Reception staff very efficient. Room very good. No satellite tv. Bathrooms quite small but nicely done. Needed a mirror in the room over the desk for make up and hair drying. Lounge area very pleasant. A shame you could not sit up at the bar. Restaurant very old fashioned. Glad not on half board as disappointing menu and you get charged extras if you choose off the a la carte. Breakfast ok but bacon and egg was cold from buffet. Pool very small and busy. Swimming not an option if 1or 2 people in the pool. Good location for restaurants and good ski in ski out. Excellent boot room, warming boots and a secure locker. Good hotel but misses the beat.

A nice hotel in a great location that is wildly overpriced. But we got an end of season good deal so gave it a try. Very comfortable, nice room, heated ski boot dryers in the ski lockers! But the service was spotty at best. We had to ask for water four times at dinner the first night. One morning at breakfast we finally gave up waiting for coffee and headed for the slopes without. Food was excellent but service very slow in the dining room. Wine list is crazy overpriced. Only one bottle less than 50 Euros on the whole list! We enjoyed our stay, but can't afford to stay there during the season.

Belle hôtel !! Par contre quelque petit problème avec beaucoup de bruit à l étage au dessus ( duplex) et problème de télévision qui ne fonctionnais pas !! Pour des nuits à environ 450 € je trouve ça dommage !! Sinon petit déjeuné extra et personnel au petit soins

Prestation globale bien en-dessous de celle attendue pour un cinq étoiles alors que les prix sont bien ceux d’un 5 étoiles. On ne constate aucune réelle différence de prestations avec un hôtel de catégorie inférieure. Salle de bain minuscule pour une junior suite. Chambre non faite à 16h. Petit déjeuner correct mais sans plus. Salle de restaurant sombre et triste. Service de conciergerie perfectible. Bref, une grosse déception.
