The staff treated my mom and her friend like Gold. The property is stunning, the rooms are so comfortable, the tub- beautiful. The food, incredible. Was a shot in the dark with this location but mom and her friend absolutely loved every second of every aspect of this experience.

A Hotel that is next door to a Bird Park
We booked this hotel as we wanted to go the De Haar Castle which is located just outside Utrecht. However, to our amazement this hotel is next to a Bird Park and when you stay at the Van Der Valk Avifanua this entitles you to visit this park free of charge. The reason I am telling you this, is this is not pointed out when you check-in!!!

We enjoyed so much the 5 days in Avifauna. The staff were great, room was excellent. The food were amazing. Our kids really loved the walk around in their park. The hotel bar was great and the service was excellent and the price was fair for the service. The cleaning service great, the staff always welcomed us. You could even walk around the town, the town centre is so close. I would recommened this hotel and we will back definetely. Thank you

This hotel accommodation was perfect for my family of 5. The rooms were clean and had plenty of toiletries and a mini fridge. The breakfast was by far the best of all of our hotel stays on our 10 day trip to Europe. The bird sanctuary and animals and playground was an additional treat for the whole family. If you are in the Amsterdam area this is a great place to stay.

Just a little frustrating when I paid (quite a bit) for breakfast and then wasn’t on the list - two days in a row. I’m glad the bird park was free.

The size of the room was more than I expected. The view from out room and balcony overlooked the Bird Park and it was lovely to sit outside and enjoy the fresh air.

Fantastic hotel. We had been travelling for two weeks and needed to get laundry done! The girl at reception gave me the address and directions for the nearest laundromat which was so helpful!! It was getting late so the outgoing waiter at their restaurant managed to get us in for dinner evee we b though it was getting late. Our waiter was also helpful giving us tips on local sites and towns to see. The room was clean, we enjoyed relaxing on the balcony and beds were comfy.

Beautiful location with access to bird park from the compound and large canal right across the road for mindfulness walk or book reading. Beautiful restaurant with summer house seating. Only challenge is commuting options.

Amazing place for a stay with small kids, mainly because of the access to he avifauna. Not easy to get to (we were surprised that there was no uber coverage) but great fun if you want a quite place away from the city. Be prepared for the sounds (and smells) of birds.

Lovely property, nice free entrance to the bird park. The stairs are very steep and the interior hallways look old. The rooms are nice and the restaurant adjacent excellent
