Friendly, helpful staff
Very helpful staff and excellent location, walking distance to many attractions and public transportation. The clock bell tower is right there and rings every 15 minutes from 7am to 19 pm. Otherwise a quiet location off the Main Street. The staff is outstanding!

quite unprofessional behaviour
Unfortunately there was no one who let us in. We arrived at two pm and found other guests standing in front of the locked hotel. We found out by coincidence that the restaurant beside had the safety number to enter the hotel. No person to check us in.The room keys laid at the reception desk. We found it quite unprofessional. Later we heard the lady of the reception preferred to spent this very warm day at the lake instead in the hotel... What more to say...

Dear Helga, thank you very much for your feedback. We regret that you are not satisfied with your stay with us and we would like to apologize for that. Due to the low demand on bookings we decide to provide still our self check in via Door Code as well for a safety reason for all our guests in June 2021. Therefore you regular receive two E-Mails before arrival. One with the regristration form and one with the Door Code. Unfortunately the plattform you booked through does not provide any tool to contact you by mail or phone number. In this case you can find a emergency number for the check in hanging on our entrance door as well. From beginning of July we will be back with a full time service and we just can ask for your understanding for the actual situation due to Corona with is the main reason for the lower service. Please be assure that the entire team would be delighted to welcome all our guests back after many month at home and no one will spend the warm day at the lake instead of the hotel. You might give us a chance again when you are coming back to Augsburg. best regards

Good location to explore old town, friendly staff
Fast, easy, friendly check in, speak English. Location is good, although the hotel does not look right out onto the Rathausplatz as I thought it did. Bed was good, pillows were very flimsy and flat. Comforters smelled like they needed to be aired out. Breakfast is typical German fare. Staff is very friendly and helpful. We spent one night and overall enjoyed our stay.

I liked the breakfast and the short ways to all the sights. I did NOT like how I was treated at the check in: I was surprised by the fact you have to acutally contact the hotel in advance to arrange parking. Nothing is said so on the expedia site but they told me to read the fineprint next time more carefully! How rude! And... after 10 pm you cannot get back into the parking space for you need a certain key for you have to give back to the receptionist. Then we didn't get a ONE Queen Bed we had TWO beds simply put together. Atop, they charged me twice for the hotel even though I told them expedia already collected the fees!

Dear Anonymous, thank you very much for your feedback here at expedia. We regret that you did not enjoyed your stay with us in total and our Rezeption did not treat you well on the day of check in. You might understand that we are pretty happy to offer parking spaces at all in this location, directly in the city center of Augsburg, and that we are not offering the same number of parking spaces as we do have rooms. Herewith the problem is, that every guest expect that we keep a parking spaces specially for him/her. Therefor we recommend to pre-book the parking space or to accept that (if all our parking spaces are booked) to use the next public parking (400m walking distance). Regarding the drive out of the parking after 10:00 p.m.: Of course you are able to get out. There is a private Code you can use to drive out (like you did on the day of departure as well). For a security reason this code need to be ask from our Reception team. We would like to apologize again for the mistake for double charging you. Our Reception member was not sure at all if she need to charge you or not. Of course, you know that you pre-paid, but this was not clear for her. We already explained the pre-booked reservations again and now she knowes how it works. Why did you not spoken to us during the check out and now, you leave the neagtiv feedback here? We really would be delighted to find a solution and explain the situation with you direcly. Unfortunately now it is to late for that.

The Hotel am Rathaus is in an ultra-central location. The building is completely renovated and modernized (as most German cities can show buildings 200+ years old, if not flattened during WWII), architecturally quirky little pensions and hotels/B+B's that have been updated to a good standard and level of comfort. The rooms are tiny but they have all amenities one can hope for and even the tiny bathroom is so cleverly designed that space, or lack thereof, becomes a non-issue. The beds are super-comfy and the linen white-white and crisp. There's even a good sized "refridgerette" in the room - an unusual encounter even on an international budget chain level a very hard to find item these days, but hey - Germany has a reputation for coming up with thoughtful design in terms of usability plus esthetics for the eye. The breakfast buffet is laden with a wholesome, tasty, fresh and substantial range that can easily stand up next to any gourmet Intercon buffet at a fraction of the price. Overall, I loved the Hotel am Rathaus for its excellent value and uncomplicated, warm and friendly staff.

Für uns ist er Teppich vor allem bei Geräuschen wie z.B. von rollenden Koffern, Laufgeräuschen etc. eine große Hilfe, die wir durch den Teppich stark dämmen. Wir können Ihnen zudem versichern, dass dieser regelmäßig Grundgereinigt wird und ein neuer Teppich bereits im Keller liegt, der während unserer Betriebsferien über den Jahreswechsel verlegt wird. Das Lob über unser freundliches Personal haben wir sehr gerne an alle im Team weitergeleitet. Wir senden herzliche Grüße aus der Fuggerstadt Augsburg.

Hotellin sijainti ei voisi olla parempi, aivan keskustassa. Paljon ravintoloita ja palveluja lähellä. Palvelu ystävällistä, huone siisti ja tilava. Hieman melua läheiseltä kadulta yöaikaan mutta ei häiriöksi asti. Hyvä parkkihalli (ei helppo ajaa sisään, mutta siinäkin vastaanoton ystävällinen rouva oli avuksi), kohtuullisen hintainen.

Ich habe dort meinen Vater zum zweiten Mal untergebracht wegen der zentralen Lage. Das Zimmer war groß und sauber. Gutes Frühstück und nettes Personal. Was nicht so schön ist, ist die Tatsache, dass der Empfang über Nacht nicht besetzt ist. Deshalb möchte er bei seinem nächsten Besuch nicht mehr dort hin. Aber ansonsten alles Top.

Schade, dass Ihr Vater sich bei einem nächsten Aufenthalt in Augsburg nicht wieder für uns entscheiden wird da unsere Rezeption nicht durchgehend besetzt ist. Sie werden sicherlich verstehen, dass es sich bei einem 31- Zimmer Haus kostentechnisch nicht rentiert die Rezeption durchgehend zu besetzten zumal (grad in der Hotellerie) die Personalsuche immer schwieriger wird. Wir dehnen die Öffnungszeiten der Rezeption daher je nach Belegung zwischen 18:00 Uhr und 21:00 Uhr aus. Wir wünschen Ihnen und Ihrem Vater dennoch alles Gute und bedanken uns für die Zeit bei uns. This hotel was very good. The man at the reception was very helpful, and made us feel welcome. The room vas overall good, and the breakfast arrangement was superb.

El hotel es hermoso... Muy confortable.. la habitación estaba perfecta y muy cómoda y muy limpia... La recepcionista Alexandra es una genia... Se esmero en todo momento por atendernos y orientarnos por dónde pasear y comer... Se merece mí eterno agradecimiento...

Sehr persönliche und kleine Unterkunft. Zentral gelegen, leider nur begrenzte Parkplätze vorhanden. Sehr enger Speisesaal, aber schönes Buffet.
